Hello, just a question for those who use WealthyAffiliate.com, is the site main content (lectures) not free anymore?

I signed up a year ago and all the lectures to get started on Affiliate Marketing were free and there was Premium (paid for) Content, but overall the basics were all free. Now I've just started Course 2 and it's asking me to upgrade to Premium? so is all the content paid for now or have I just clicked the wrong link?

I was meant to start with it last year but I had to start a second job and I had to give this up for a while. Shame because back then it was all free

Thank you

I believe that the level 1 training course (10 lessons) is free, but level 2 onwards requires premium membership. They used to do a heavily discounted 1 month trial of premium which provides you with access to all of the content. I used this trial period to consume all of the necessary training. I think it was about $19 at the time - not sure if they still do this. One thing to bear in mind is that you can NOT revert back to free membership once you have signed up to premium (whether as 1 month trial or otherwise).

Although I remain a member of WA and use their servers to host all of my sites, I don't actively promote their services. Not because I don't believe that they offer value for money, but because I am just too busy to get involved in the "make money online" niche. I pay about $30 per month for their services (inc. unlimited hosting). Whilst I don't use their training/support services anymore I like to know that I can if I need to if my sites need attention.

Thank you, makes sense. How long did it take you to break even with the site subscription? Assuming you were doing it part time?

I didn't make any money with WA - I managed to screw things up by not following Amazons t+c's carefully (something that doesn't get mentioned on WA but that's not entirely relevant) so got my amazon affiliate account banned after weeks of doing content.

The wound was too deep to start it again plus I'd lost amazon as an affiliate

I'm sure you mentioned it, but can you remind me what t&c you missed/wasn't explained by WA?

It took about 3-4 months to start earning over $100 per month. I haven't got time for social media engagement so had to wait for my Google rankings to improve before I could generate any income. It took about 12 months to get above $100 per day. The lure of tax free earnings at PA have diverted my attention recently and stolen my blogging time.

I did manage to get a free kids' scooter from a very well known UK manufacturer last month so that I can review it when I get the chance.

I think it was this one - as amazon don't tell you exactly what you've done wrong - the words "fraud ring" and "breach of terms" lead me to believe that number 10 was the one I goofed on. I has disclosed that I was an affiliate but I didn't use their exact statement :(

Cheers for posting this caveat, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Perhaps try it again? Thomas Edison failed 10.000 before finding the lightbulb after all ;)

btw perhaps a silly question but how do you guys do with HMRC ? you just fill a tax return online, or is it too much to track with just a tax return?

can you be self employed with WA while having a PAYE job in the daytime for HMRC purposes ?

What do we do?

We register with HMRC as soon as we start earning from home.

I have a full time job AND earn from home as well - it's never been an issue
