Having just read a thread on here I feel compelled to post.

If any of you on here are looking to start, upgrade but a theme, install a website.

DONT PAY for anything until you have spoken to me :)

Honestly quite how these big companies get away with charging what they do is beyond me.

I own several servers and have loads of room for websites and will charge a lot less than every where else.

Cheers

I think some companies just think of a number and times it by ten Mark. The worst ones are these companies that prey on people who have no website experience. I have seen some pay hundreds a year for some quick setup site. usually the dashboard is a nightmare to navigate and the whole thing just becomes a worthless waste or money.. No one needs to pay more than £30 to £50 a year to run a site, and you can do it for a lot less if you know what you are doing.

It is like buying a laptop, most people do not need the one that is supped up like a Lamborghini.. You can always get a good one that does the job for between £200 and £300.. It all comes to hard selling by unscrupulous companies. Take Virgin media, they prey on old people who don't know whats what. I know many people who pay £60 a month and they have less channels than me on SKY.. and I pay nothing near that figure.. Sadly too many people are ill informed and it just allows these companies to take advantage of people.

Thanks Jon,

Any specific package you would recommend?

work your way from the bottom up, you can always scale upwards

what you don't want to be doing is paying more for a larger package with limits you don't hit
