The only downside is if you have entered your number to enter a competition then they can call you.

Sign up for MPS as well - stops you getting junk mail in the post - http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/mpsr/

If you tick the opt out boxes, stating that you want no communication, then they are breaking the law if they cold call you just because you have entered their comp, whether you are registered with the TPS or not. If you are registered/opted out, legally they can only call you if they are ringing to inform you that you have won a prize. Unless they have buried it somewhere in the T&C's to say that they can, which is not common.

Working out my budget spreadsheet!

All with benefit estimates as we won't know the correct amounts until we hopefully move next month and I start getting in touch with HMRC etc...

My head hurts! Too many numbers...
And reworking out my credit card payments to make sure it's paid off within the 15 months 0% which ends in March.. £810 a month for 3 more months.

And that doesn't include any money we spend at Chinese New Year in Manchester in 2 weeks.

Ouchie head...

Wow! Lots of dosh :(

What about applying for a new 0% deal and transferring it over? Will buy you some time. A relative had to do this recently and I got £22 ish cashback for applying for it online for them (was Halifax I think).

I feel like poop!

Earache, Stomachache, Headache, knackered. But still in work.

Will try to battle through, or I'll just have to go home. But lil one is at home today as nursery have said she can't go back in till Monday (diarrhoea..).

Oh and I went to the shop this morning for ibuprofen, and came out with everything but that!

Sorry to hear you're feeling crap :( Sounds like you need paracetamol not NSAIDs which will make your stomach ache worse (and probably give you an upset stomach to boot). Ibuprofen are not usually what they would recommend for those types of symptoms, just a thought, you may have done yourself a favour by not getting them.

Hope you feel better soon! x

Being made redundant probably; that's quite annoying. I was already looking for another job so hopefully ahead of the game; just not a very nice feeling.

Thanks [member=1]Jon[/member]

It was sort of expected; just not quite to the level that is going to happen. Ah well these things are sent to try us and with the help of this site I should be in a better position than most ;)

Thought I'd try the pulled pork sausage rolls today from the work canteen. Found 2 MASSIVE bits of bone in it :( On the plus side, I complained and they are giving me lunch for free tomorrow!

[member=2532]EmilyDav[/member] I'm sorry about the redundancy :(

Good job you didn't take a big bite and break a tooth The Reverend (why can't I tag you? lol)

Here's my moan of the day, week, 10 days ;)

So, I drop our routine repeat prescriptions in last Monday - 10 days ago. They should be done and at the pharmacy ready to collect 3 days later. Go down 4 days later and they aren't done! 2 days later some done, some not. Go this morning (day 10) and the pharmacy is closed because someone broke the glass in the door! Ring back this afternoon - do you have the prescriptions ready? Spell out my daughters' names.............twice. And no they aren't difficult names! 5 minutes later, he's found one and goes off to find the other. Another 5 minutes and he's found the other. So I double check that he has both. No, I only have one! But you said 5 minutes ago that you did! Off he goes again and comes back to say yes he has them. Go down to pick up and its mayhem. The door is being fixed, all of the staff are temporary and don't know what they are doing. I wait another 5 minutes for them to find the drugs that they had already found earlier. They give them to me and then tell me that there's more drugs to come - erm, no, I picked them up on Monday! The term piss up and brewery come to mind!

I suppose you can't blame the staff and in some ways it was comical, but all of those walks down the hill and back seriously ate into my time.

[member=224]Topaz[/member] how annoying! I once got given someone's penis pills in my prescription :D Also to tag The Reverend you want to type @the without a space and then his name will be in the dropdown :) it doesn't recognise the space I find.

[member=920]katykicker[/member] A while ago my Dad picked up his blood pressure tablets, got home and thought that they looked different, but took one anyway. He slept all day - it turned out the pharmacy had given him sleeping tablets instead because the name was very similar!!! Their reply............don't worry, they wouldn't have done him any harm. Erm, so what would have happened if he'd tried to drive?!?!?!

[member=2509]The Reverend[/member] Yay! I managed the tag :D He is now wondering why I have tagged him. Read two posts up and all will become clear ;)

They were worried I would break a tooth. I said No harm done and I didn't want a replacement or to have anything else today. Thats when she offered me lunch tomorrow on the house. How could I turn THAT down?!!?!!! One thing I notice with canteen is if the main meal from the day before doesn't sell, it is often then used as sandwich fillings for the next day. Today instead of sandwich fillings we had these sausage roll things. They didn't even taste nice! But At least I get a free lunch!

We've had to cancel going to Manchester for Chinese New Year in 2 weeks. We just can't afford that and the house move.

And moving is way more important at the moment.

Just a bit miffed I'm losing £10 on the train tickets because they take £10 off you to refund... and bought some tickets for an event which has cost me £12, so losing out on £22, but that's better than the £700+ we'd have spent over the weekend.

There's always next year. x

Sorry to hear that. Is there anything you can do closer to home to celebrate? Maybe a Chinese restaurant is holding a special celebratory meal or something?

p.s. can you sell the tickets? Maybe make a little of your cashback?
