When do you cashout on websites? i.e. survey sites, cashback site etc

Do you save up and cashout huge chunks at once or do you cashout as soon as you reach the payment threshold?

I'd love to have confidence in sites that they'll still be around e.g. a year from now but so many seem to close without warning. I don't even want to leave anything sitting in Paypal in case they freeze the account.

I always cash out as soon as possible. You never know when a company will cease to exist, even if they have been around for years. I lost £40 a while ago when a survey site closed out of the blue. I always leave some money in my Paypal account, but if it goes above a certain sum, I withdraw the excess.

As soon as I reach the minimum threshold for the thing I want; so if it's cash i'm after which has a higher redemption than vouchers i'll wait until i can redeem for cash rather than bailing at vouchers, or redeem without fees. Then it goes straight into paypal and I lift it is straight out of paypal and into a bank account just to protect even further. Then if the bank goes belly up i've got bigger things to worry about anyways! But i don't use paypal to shop so that's why i don't leave money in there, otherwise i might be more tempted i guess.

Also, in most cases you have nothing to gain from leaving something in a survey site etc, so you may as well pull the funds/vouchers closer so they are more guaranteed. I would rather go into a John Lewis with 5 x £10 vouchers than wait for £50 voucher and it disappears....!

Main reason I'd want to keep it in the accounts is to save up and not have the temptation to spend it. Too many sites and come and gone though so I do regularly cashout ASAP.

e.g. most recently was Archerfish PTC. Only had £1.50 in there and cashout was £3 but Paypal decided to close their account so they had no way of paying out - not the fault of the site itself but still very frustrating.

what about linking your paypal to a bank account you can't withdraw from online and have to physically go to a bank to get it out; the effort of that would soon put me off spending it if not easily accessible!

In 3+ years I've only had 1 non-payment so far.

I personally still cashout right away unless there is something to be gained by waiting (discount etc) for larger amounts (swagbucks PayPal for example).

That would definitely work as I live in the country so rarely get to the bank ;D

Glad I've got some targets set to reach this year so hopefully won't dip into the pot too often!

I agree, cash out as soon as you can from any survey site. Even if you just keep it in your paypal account, it won't go anywhere.

The only exception I have is Prolific Academic, if you wait until you reach £20 you don't get charged the paypal fees! (That was a tip from the Prolific thread on here)

I also cash out immediately with the exception of Swagbucks as they do give you a discount if you cash out larger payments. Most of the time, it is worth it.

I usually cash out as soon as I can as you never know when a website may go close without warning! The only website I don't cashout on straight away is, Prolific Academic, I wait to until I earn £20 to avoid the PayPal fees.
