The Spiel
Chocolates for Chocoholics is a Party Plan company based in Hurst UK with Distributors all over the country, they sell luxury, high quality chocolate and gifts. The products appeal to all ages and both sexes unlike some other Party Plan companies, also as a consumable product customers are more likely to come back to buy each season and hopefully for years to come.
The company has been going for over 25 years and has been in my life for the last 20. Although I've never worked as a Distributor, members of my family have and I hope to tell you what I can about the company to see if it's for you.
Distributors Requirements
- You need to be able to drive
- You need to be able to work evenings (this is because most people book parties in the evening)
- You need to have Excel on your PC
- Your house needs to have easy access to the road for van deliveries (flats are generally not accepted)
- Your house needs to be clean and have a decent amount of space
- All Distributors are subject to a credit check
- You are required to purchase a kit to display at your parties
The Kit
The kits change every season as the products vary from year to year, the Christmas kit costs £300 and the Easter one £250
I know that's a lot but hear me out!
The kit includes 1 each of most products (or type of product) that appear in the catalogue, you will use this kit to display the products at your parties. You also get 300 catalogues, unlimited order forms, unlimited bags, samples to take to parties and the chance to earn rewards.
The kits are sent out at the end of September and you don't have to pay for it until November (will have to double check but I think it's the 1st), you will have made the kit money back and more by this point.
A typical party set up with the kit can be viewed here - fast forward to the end to see the full table layout.

The Commission
Unfortunately I cannot tell you what the commission is... not only do I not know but they don't publicly display it anywhere and staff are not allowed to talk about it. What I have been told is it's a bit less than Pampered Chef which I think is 20% but Chocolates for Chocoholics products are overall cheaper, are consumable and can appeal to a larger audience.
The Parties
Distributors need to hold at least 3-4 parties a week and the average party sells around £450 worth of goods, most parties will take place in your hostesses home. You'll take along the products in your kit, show them off, give out some samples and chat and generally have a good time.
To encourage your hostess to get more orders for you from his/her party there are some rewards that the hostess can earn if they over £150 of goods are sold at their party - including a 7.5% commission in cash or 10% in chocolates and for larger orders you could also qualify for points towards a Free Gift.
As a Distributor you take the payment with the orders and make sure that the money is banked and then make a large order to the company once a week. Then you pay for the goods and receive them 2-3 days after (need to double check this). You then sort that large order into the individual orders and deliver it to the customers.
The Seasons and the Range
The Christmas season is 10 weeks long and the Easter one is shorter at 6-7 weeks. Distributors do have targets to reach, you need to sell £12,000 worth of goods in the Christmas season and £4,000 for the Easter.
The range changes to suit the season but contains products for all sorts of event such as Halloween, Mothers/Fathers day, kids parties, weddings and corporate functions. There is also the option to order personalised products. You can view the full range of products online here: http://www.chocolate-parties.com/
No Pyramid Scheme!
As a distributor - if you sign up others then there are some rewards to be earned but it stops there, there are no managers, executive leaders or elite sales person - just Distributors.
That's mostly it!
Feel free to ask more questions, I know what some of the q's might be - I'll do my best to answer them but I might have to ask and get back to you later on. To find out more about becoming a Distributor then you need to call the company on 0118 9321043 - they will start recruiting and holding interviews for the Easter season in early December.
Chocolates for Chocoholics has been a large part of my childhood and now I work there not as a Distributor but as part of what goes on behind the scenes! I personally love the products they do and the chocolate is really tasty - I've sampled it many times over the years
