Yes you would just punt the domain over.I already have a domain name registered somewhere else. If I get hosting from Kloudhost, do I have to move the domain name over to Kloudhost too? And if so, do you know how much their renewal prices are for domain names?
Whey want WHAT?Got the 1/2 price year's hosting and the .com version of my domain for £1.20 - win! Thanks for the yummy codes, Jon
The company that currently has my domain name want another £36(!) to transfer it over, so I'm just going to change the nameservers until it comes up for renewal again.
They can, but luckily I don't need to transfer the domain over to be able to use it with Kloudhost. I just need to get them to change the nameservers so that it points towards Kloudhost. I agree it's a huge amount though; I'm going to save a fair bit of money switching over to Kloudhost!Whey want WHAT?
Not sure they can do that? Have you asked Kloudhost support for advice?
jesus that picture is nearly as confusing asThey can, but luckily I don't need to transfer the domain over to be able to use it with Kloudhost. I just need to get them to change the nameservers so that it points towards Kloudhost. I agree it's a huge amount though; I'm going to save a fair bit of money switching over to Kloudhost!
Now to spend my afternoon figuring out the wordpress install!
Trust me. You will notice a HUGE speed increaseGoing to change over to this today. I am currently on Bluehost and although their support is great I find my site speed is quite slow. With the Kloudhost offer I think I will probably save myself about £60!
Don’t forget they will migrate your entire site over to them for FREEThanks. I think I am going to go for the Premium package as I will only be running one website.
Great stuff! All done and dusted....I have to say that their customer service is second to none and the migration took about an hour. I now have a quicker website with cheaper hosting. Cheers
Yeah it's fine to purchase and let it sit there.. GO FOR IT!!On the verge of doing this. A local association I'm involved with is in desperate need of a website makeover. I'll have to pay for it myself as the next committee meeting isn't until Weds so it can't come out of the association funds without committee approval, but at £14.95 for a year's hosting I can't let it slip away. Sadly the website is currently being "managed" by a local company that really isn't keeping up with the times eg not mobile/tablet responsive, and some of the content is years out of date.
Is it ok to purchase it but then let it sit for a while @Jon ? It'll take some time to generate fresh content for the site. A friend has volunteered to build a new site from scratch for us but it won't be immediate.
Yes you would lose out on 1 months hosting but the savings you are making would more than cover that lossWill get onto this now, bargain offer @Jon - I need to renew at the end of April though, so I don't know whether I'll be losing out on a month of my current hosting by starting with Kloudhost now while the offer is still valid..?
