[member=2431]Uhhhhh[/member] Yeah I know about CL tonight but 888 had nothing above 4.0 on the PA oddsmatcher I meant... my free bets would have expired at 1pm had I not placed them on something.

I personally put all my free bets on acca doubles wherever possible, choosing selections with odds typically around 3-4 each. You get more value and it looks more muggy.

Guys...I put a £10 bet on at odds of £1.72 and won, so was expecting to win £17.20. I actually won £17.27? I know its not a big difference but I'm trying to understand as much about betting as possible, anyone got any idea what might have happened here? It was the Stoke V Tottenham game if that helps

Betting odds are usually expressed in fractions but can be changed to decimal by dividing the first number by the second and adding on one. Eg: 2/1 (two to one) is 3.0 in decimal. Sometimes rounding comes into play as has done here. Spurs will have been 8/11 which equates to 1.72727 recurring but the bookie site has shown only 1.72 but paid out on the third decimal point - 1.727.

Ah that makes sense, thank you

Yip that sounds the most likely reason... if you are using matchbook yet you will see their odds displayed in full decimal form

How much of your own money do you need to use for betting to get the £45 return?

Hi [member=3713]Jaycon74[/member]

I would say you can start MBing with £50

I started with £60 and have never put any more money in and have earned over £12,000+ at last count

Wow that's an amazing return!! Think I'll definitely need to give that a try!

Easiest way to earn extra money in my opinion. Start off slow with the smaller offers and work your way up to the bigger ones. This will help you build up your betting bank.

I've been match betting for about 6 months now and I've only dabbled in it and made about £2.5k. It took me quite a while to place the bets at first and build my confidence, but now I find it really easy, and it is such an easy way to make money. It genuinely does seem too good to be true.

I'm a few weeks in now and have noticed that Betfair have taken less commission than the 5% expected on my winnings (£12.15 instead of £14.11). Anyone know why this happens? As a result my spreadsheet is now out by £1.96, not a big deal but I'm worried the amount its out by will just get bigger and bigger over time if they continue to take varying amounts of commission. [member=143]auntygeek[/member] is there a way to adjust the balance of betfair on the match and go spreadsheet so that it reflects what is actually there?

My problem is that I already have accounts with all bookmakers and obviously won't get the bonuses for joining. Is this the only way to profit from matched betting?

No not at all [member=3767]eng1991[/member]

I started and already had accounts with a lot of the main bookies

New RELOAD offers appear on Profit Accumulator every day so you know plough through those

I started last July and finished all the signups within a month or so and am still going now with Matched Betting

It is definitely a long term thing!!

Cheers, going to have a proper good research of it all tomorrow when I'm slightly more awake!

Check in betfair what your commission is. It does reduce as you use it more. If you have a lower commission say 4.8% then in the accounts tab, write in the commission column what your new commission is.

However if you had more than one bet on the same event you can benefit from slightly reduced commission as its only on net winnings. Also, I believe bookies actually use fraction odds and the decimal odds are rounded. This means that over time your balances get skewiff by some pence.

How I deal with it (other than entering the non rounded decimal odds to 4 decimal places which calculates the accurate returns) or any other manual adjustment is this:

Bookie name
Back bet
Detail: manual adjustment

If you need to ADD funds to an account:
Free SNR = Y
Stake = amount needed to add
Odds = 2.0
Win = Y
Category: Other / Other

If you need to SUBTRACT funds to an account:
Free SNR = N
Stake = amount needed to add
Odds = 1.0
Win = N
Category: Other/ other

So for you if you need to add £1.96 to Betfair you'd enter a new back bet for betfair with stake 1.96, free SNR = Y, odds 2.0, win = Y.

Thanks [member=143]auntygeek[/member] . Still says 5% commision in Betfair so not sure why it happened but never mind, I will adjust the spreadsheet by doing the above.

Another quick question, if I start using another exchange, e.g Smarkets, would I just add it to the row of bookies and fill in the commision column or would it need to go at the top, like Betfair does?

Nope just add any other bookies or exchanges (Smarkets, matchbook) and it'll fill in the correct commission automatically. The commission doesn't change for those but with betfair you get a loyalty commission hence it being at the top of the list, so you can change it manually if you need to :)
