Chammy and Queen81 ... you are soooooo funny! As if ANYONE could take the sparkle of your awesomeness ... I've seen y'all posts here ;D

It just so happens that
(a) I make a fantastic cup of Yorkshire tea - a proper brew, so you can stand your spoon up in it!
(b) I occasionally make homemade cookies + cake too (but I'm going through a low-carb / raw food phase at the mo so trying to avoid 'em)
(c) I HAVE SPARKLES IN MY BAG TOO!!!!

*mwah* thank you for brightening up my grey, dreary day here in Wombleland ;)

Oh maybes you could teach Mr Queen the way forward here? I like milky (ish) tea, but his is like dishwater. Infact, it's not even that good.

Oh yuk! No!!!! I've trained mine to leave the teabag in at least TWICE as long as in his cup ;)

Still, he makes up for his lack of tea-making abilities with being an ACE cook - shame he doesn't get enough time to do it regularly :-\

Oh no :(

No chance of me oversleeping, with Beloved stamping around like a herd of elephant at 6.30am every morn ;)

My whole day has gone to pot ... all coz of an email from the Uni I've applied to (quaking in me boots, waiting to hear if I've been offered a place!). They want ALL my certificates from right back to 1985 - WHY?!!! What relevance does that have to my ability to study in my 40's?!! So I've just up-ended the filing cabinet and now have the unenviable task of trotting to local library to stalk a scanner #notwhatIhadinmindfortodayatall

Happy Thursday, lovelies - is it cup-o-tea-time yet? or is nearer to gin o'clock?

Shouldn't have any relevance at all. I applied for a college course (which I am doing now), and they made me do some tests on the computer. Mind you, I found my certificates the other day, but I have just realised that the A Level ones are missing. Anyway, I am sure you can do some other course that is for people that have been out of education for a while, and it "breaks em in gently". I will ask Stellajose the crack cos I think she's applying to do a masters......

Ps; It's nowhere near gin-o-clock.That is 7pm in my book - make do with your lovely cuppas til then :)

Awwww Queen, are YOU sure we can't push gin o'clock forward a little today? I've got a Committee meeting 6.30 - 8.30pm this eve ::)

I hope they are just dotting the i's and crossing the t's as a mere paperwork exercise - academically, I think I'm OK (I'd been accepted previously for a Masters programme at a different uni, in a different professional field) but this email today has just wracked the nervous-feeling up to Mach 5 :-\ as well as ruining my schedule!

Nope - think of how much you'll enjoy your gin at 8.31pm :)

Well I would be ringing em and telling em that it's a joke that they expect you to find certificates from all those years ago.

Oh hey, can I join your fan club too? Proper brew AND homemade cookies and cake. Wow. I'm low carbing too, tho. Boo to January dieting. Lost 8lb so far (and almost the will to live) and have even kicked my Coke Zero addiction. I reckon that's the real cause of January Blues - withdrawal from caffeine and sugar and other yumminess. Sparkles help tho. :)

Ahh I reckon I may have this problem too, you know. I have loads of qualifications from college in 1997-2000 kind of time, and my ex-husband tore them up (nice guy he was, ha!) and I don't think the examining bodies even exist any more. But I always include them because, hey, I did those courses, and worked hard, so I'm claiming the qualifications. Ha! I managed to avoid having to produce them for undergraduate studies, though, so fingers crossed.

What are you wanting to study? I'm also applying for Masters programmes to start in September. If I can stop procrastinating, that is...

Also, I'm going with any time after midday being gin o'clock. Only on special occasions tho, or times of stress, or when it's dreary and grey, or when there's a 'y' in the day ;D

Don't you hate it when you open up your cupboards or freezer and it's full, but full of stuff that won't make a meal. Like mushy peas and salmon. And 6 bags of frozen potato products, and a bag of frozen summer fruits. Time for a shop methinks

Well gales here and lashing rain. Nearly knocked me off my feet this morning after coming out of Aldi doing the usual food shop.
Nice to be back in the warm and just had beans on toast for lunch and a nice cuppa.
You can't beat a nice hot cup of tea. :)

We bought a NowTV box today, £14.99 from Argos with a free 3 month subscription to movies and entertainment. Basically we only wanted it to be able to have the smartTV - ie watch youtube on our TV (husband is youtube addict!). So impressed with this little thing. Bargain!
