I haven't done mine either!

I earned just under the taxable limit last year so don't owe them a penny, but need to get my backside in gear and just get on with it.

I am really ashamed (truly!) to say that I've still not even started to enter my accounts into the spreadsheet ... let alone get ready to file them online before the deadline 31st Jan!!! EVERY YEAR I do this - what is wrong with me?!!!!! ;D

Oh yeah! I remember! I'm terrified of numbers! But in all seriousness, I WILL change this year - it benefits me, it benefits my bank balance ... and I don't get my Beloved nagging me 8)

Don't be ashamed. I do it every year too. I don't even know where any of my paperwork is. A good educated guess will see me through like it does every year on the 31st of Jan at 10pm :)

I don't use a spreadsheet, instead I use a programme by microsoft called Money. I use it for all my accounts and have done for years. I just print off a report at the end of the year and all the information is there for me :)

BrightBooks is pretty nifty (online accountancy software) ... what I really like about it is that you have limited 'columns' to add your entries. If I am let loose on a spreadsheet, I end up with some very odd-sounding columns - and way too many to make it efficient! I also like the fact you can invoice from it, too :D

I did mine this last week!

Yay. Pleased. I don't know why I leave it so late. I do think the whole method of logging on is an unnecessary headache tho. Gateway ID and then the password never works, so half on the screen and half by email. Wah, I have a headache before I start.

Glad it's done tho.

I like to do mine as soon as I can in April to get it out of the way and so I know where I stand tax wise. I'm one of those people who keeps checking the HMRC's website to see when the new forms are available! We should have a competition this year to see who can get their tax return done first!

I'm going to try and get mine done sooner this year.. really don't know why I leave it till middle of January!

I have ended up with a NI bill for about 800 quid (don't ask) - Mr Queen doesn't know, yet :(

They said I could only do it if my earnings were under 5.5 grand. This is from a good few years ago. Chammy said something about child benefit.
