Hi Everyone :D!

I'm Amy; I'm 28 years old, work full time, and in the past year I have gained a mortgage and a husband. My interests are playing the piano, my distance learning uni course, reading/listening to audiobooks, and watching Netflix/films.

For the past few years I have been using the internet to save money on everything from insurance to online shopping. I'm an avid follower of MoneySavingExpert, and Martin Lewis has probably saved me 100s of pounds over the past few years! I'm new to online earning, so it's going to be my new thing to learn about in 2015. I'm going to post on here as I try things out, and let you know how I get on with fitting it around my busy work and home life.

In the past, my dabbling has involved:

Quidco: since signing up in October 2011 I have earned £234.30. My biggest earnings were £81.82 from a Three phone contract, £80 from Aviva car insurance and £35 for opening a Nationwide bank account! I've also been using it to buy Christmas presents via their reward event, as well as completing their Christmas reward tasks. This has earned me £20.63 due to be paid in January. I have signed up to Quidco Opinions but haven't been invited to do any surveys yet.

TopCashback: I signed up in March this year and have earned £53.89. My best payout was £31.31 from Energylinx after I switched my gas/electric companies through them. I always check Quidco vs Topcashback when I buy anything online. Topcashback often offers slightly more, and I find they pay quicker, but they can't beat Quidco for Christmas rewards.

e-Rewards: I often fill out surveys for e-Rewards, which usually give me between 10 and 300 points at a time. In the past I have stashed up the points and converted them to Nectar points, in order to get good rewards like the Merlin annual pass (which I could never justify paying full price for in cash!). I do at least 1 survey a week.

I would like to try writing to earn money, and signed up to Textbroker in October, but they have not read my submission yet. I am waiting patiently!

As well as this, I have all the shop reward cards going, and mostly use my Tesco Clubcard, Nectar card, Morrisons miles and more card and my Boots advantage card. Out of all of these I have found Clubcard to give me the best rewards; in the past I have used the vouchers for holidays and for buying gifts for family such as Tastecard subscriptions and English Heritage membership. The others I just use for money off when I get vouchers or when I have stashed up enough points to get at least a fiver off.

So that's a bit about me. I'm looking forward to learning about online earning!

Hi Amy

First, I've moved your diary to the money earning diary section as I think it is more relevant there

If you want to earn money from typing you are probably looking at working for sites like PPH, Fiverr, FiveSquid, TakeNote, Appen etc..

There are threads about all of those on here.

The sites you mentioned for earning money so far as good for small amount

If you want to earn decent money each month you need to be looking at the likes of

Field Agent
Roamler
63336
Leapforce
Lionbridge

Or if you are good at writing you could look at getting into Mystery Shopping

Good companies to start with are Market Force and eDigitalresearch

Can I recommend you look at my 'getting started toolkit' for earning online, it can be found at http://blog.themoneyshed.co.uk/working-from-home-toolkit/

Thanks very much Jon, that's going to be great for getting me started. No problem for moving the diary, I didn't see that there were 2 different diary forums. I will start a saving diary also!

I've just signed up to Roamler, so I'll be having a go with that first. Does Field Agent work on iPad? I don't have an iPhone unfortunately.

Great list of ideas for typing. I'm definitely interested in mystery shopping. Luckily I break up for Christmas today, so I'll have some free time on my hands to get started!

I've just checked my eRewards account. I currently have 3,150 points (earned since May this year). I'm going to set a target to get to 5,000 points next year; for that I can get a redemption of 5,500 Nectar points = £27.50!

Suddenly I'm liking eRewards a lot more...

I earned my first Roamler money yesterday! £2 for checking the bananas shelf in Tesco. I've seen there's a new biscuit task on there for £8.50 but I need to get more EXP points to get to level 2 before I can do it. That's going to be my aim today :)

Get to level 2 before Monday if you can as the Mushroom tasks come out each Monday

My day on Roamler was very successful. HB and I went out earlier to do the 'on foot' tasks to help get me to level 2. A couple of hours later my submissions were accepted so off we went to Tesco for the biscuit task.

It was quite fun to do, and I found it easier than the banana task which was made difficult by lots of Xmas shoppers constantly choosing bananas! HB was a bit unimpressed that we had to buy the biscuits which cost us £4.77, but that still left me with £3.73 from the reward of £8.50. Also I can now do the next task with the biscuits I bought, which will pay £2.

In 2 days that means I will have banked £7.73 from Roamler. Not bad at all!

Shame you weren't level 2 a few days ago when those biscuit checks were £15 each!!

I know, gutted! I wanted to do that one but I just didn't have an opportunity to get to the supermarket on the day it ended. :(

Do you own an iPhone at all? You will find a FAR greater amount of work on Field Agent compared to roamler

Got the next part of the biscuit task done for £2. It involved eating them which was good!

Mushroom task came up but the nearest shop they wanted me to go to was 16 miles away. Not worth £2! I'll just be sticking with the at home ones over Xmas.

I've also now downloaded Clic and Walk which looks like it is along the same lines. I Might give some of the tasks on there a go while I'm sitting waiting for my Xmas dinner to go down.

Happy Christmas everyone, hope you all enjoy yourselves tomorrow :D

Another £2 earned on Roamler today for taking a picture of cucumbers in Asda - probably the easiest task I've done on there so far as there were only 2 questions after submitting the pic. That takes my balance up to £14.50.

I've also been investigating Market Force and the surveys at eDigitalresearch this week. Market Force initially looked good for fees but I haven't been tempted by any tasks so far as the reimbursements don't look like they will cover the cost of the purchases they are asking for. There was one on there for Next today which offered a £4.50 for the task, but they would only reimburse £7 for buying something - difficult to do in Next!

eDigitalresearch had a lengthy survey to complete for me to get approved, but I passed :D I've joined the queue for a few website surveys as they seem to pay the most. I expect they will also be the most popular but I'm happy to wait.

I emailed Textbroker as I submitted my test piece in October and they hadn't got back to me. They sorted it and I'm all signed up now. I'm working on my first piece later - a product description for a website.

Attempted my first Market Force task yesterday where I made a phone call as a mystery shopper. I followed the instructions but then got told I needed to speak to another branch, so I had to mark the task as unsuccessful :( - disappointing as it would have paid £10! Never mind, I'll keep an eye out for the next one!

I signed up to Pinecone research this week but they emailed to say there is no space on their panel at the moment, but that they would keep my details.

I sorted out my profiles for Streetspotr and Clic and Walk. Streetspotr looks like it pays well, just not as many tasks. I might see if I can fit in one to buy a coffee in town which will pay £6 :D

In addition this week I signed up to Streetbees and also iPoll. Plus I've been busy writing for Textbroker so have got an account balance of €5.46. I'll need €10 in my account before I can request a pay off. So far I have found the research/writing quite time consuming for the amount I am being paid, but I'll stick with it for now to see if I get better with practice.

I'm still in the queue for the surveys at eDigitalresearch.

All in all it's been a busy week but it feels like it has slowed down a bit compared to my initial weeks. It's still early days though and I like the fact I can fit all these in just in my spare time.

You are doing great!!!

Have you looked at the "big boy" earners like leapforce / lionbridge / appen? - guaranteed couple of hundreds quid a month right there

What about whatusersdo as well, they pay £8-£15 per website review

If you are a Tesco shopper have you looked at the Orchard scheme.
I joined a few months ago, not a big earner but nice and easy money off coupons.
