I've always found market force to be good about things as long as you talk to them

Other companies, not so much

I've started the cashing out process as I found out it takes a few days for all these companies to actually process the payment. I was pleased to get one more survey from MySurvey which pushed my points over the £5 Paypal threshold for this month. Considering I only signed up to them a week ago I'm very pleased with that result!

Also this week I signed up to YouGov and GlobalTestMarket to see how I get on with them. I tried to get onto Valued Opinions but it turns out they don't value my opinion - my registration was rejected for some reason. I don't remember signing up to them already and they didn't recognise my email address when I tried the 'forgot password' link, so it's a mystery. I've emailed them so hopefully they will be able to sort it.

My survey cash from iPoll is still pending - apart from my registration survey they haven't approved any of my completed surveys. It says on their website it can take 2-6 weeks! That's pretty shocking.

For phone apps my Streetspotr payments are pending. They said it takes 7-30 days. On Roamler I have £16.50 in my account but I haven't cashed out yet because you get charged a 2% fee if it's under £20.

I decided to open a new current account to handle the incoming payments. It will save me having to try and pick them out on my main account statement and I'll know exactly how many extra pennies I have to spend :-D

Turned out the problem with Valued Opinions was that you can only register one IP address and it was conflicting with my work's network settings. I managed to get signed up this evening via my iPad so pleased to have got that sorted.

Also signed up to OnePoll on the recommendation of lots of people today :D

I thought I was going to get a £2 flower check Roamler done on my way home but when I submitted it my acceptance had expired so I lost it :( The shop's security guard looked very unimpressed with my picture taking as well so I after I was done I went and hid in another aisle to try and submit it lol! Next Thursday I'll drag myself out of bed a bit earlier so I can do the task on my way to work instead. Hopefully the security guard will be more sleepy early in the morning!

In the higher paying days of flower tasks I used to do £25 worth of flower checks starting at 7am before work each week

Looking forward to trying some of these out when I qualify. Sadly, I don't have an iPhone, but I can be pretty discrete with my ipad - honest! Loads of people have tablets now,m

Finally succeeded in completing a survey on Quidco! I got screened out of the first two and redirected, but eventually they found me one that I could complete. :D

I've signed up to Opinion World, Panel Opinion and Prolific Academic. I did a couple of surveys for GTM, and was excited to see I was over the £5 mark for a Paypal voucher... only to find out that you have to have 1000 points before you can cash out. I am on a lowly 190 :( Bummer!

I've found another avenue for being paid to write by joining DooYoo. This week I'm going to be hunting around the house for gadgets we have that I can review!

I chatted to my Mum about what I should do about the tax man and managing my accounts (she is self employed so has a wealth of knowledge). I get 3 months to register as a trader, so I will wait until after the 31st Jan as at the moment it is impossible to get through on the phone with everyone trying to get their tax returns in! I had a look online for cloud accounting companies and found a great one called QuickFile.co.uk which suited me best, and which you can join for free. I also looked at other free companies called Brightbook and Wave, but I didn't like them as much as QuickFile.

Well, I was the early bird catching the worm this morning! I was anticipating the Monday mushroom task on Roamler so I thought I'd get up early and try and do one or two on the way into work. I set my alarm for 5.30 (which my phone says is still night-time...) and when I got up I was very pleased to see it wasn't mushroom checks but biscuit checks today.

I did the 2 in my town and then still had time to go to another one on my way to work. I made £6 plus the refund for the purchases, and now I have a boot full of biscuits! :D It pushed me over the £20 fee-free threshold on Roamler too so I requested a cash out and they paid me immediately. Definitely a win today!

Weekend update: Having failed to find much local work I fancied on Market Force I made an application to Retail Active. Not sure if I'll get in if I'm already a member of another Mystery Shopping company but I'll soon find out. I've got a list of other companies to try if I don't succeed.

Sounds good Jon, I've not done any paid jobs for 'how to' but I often write that sort of text for my day job. If you have a description of the work I'd be happy to take a look and let you know. Thanks for thinking of me :D

I am having an excellent week so far!

Yesterday:
3x Roamler tasks approved and got my payout
Application for more mystery shopping
Got a new mystery shopping assignment which I will complete the weekend after next. It will be my first 'in person' assignment
Got a great new writing job to do courtesy of Jon :D

Today:
Application for mystery shopping successful
Got another mystery shopping assignment, a telephone one this time
Got my first eDigital surveys assigned - I've got 3 to complete
Prolific Academic is proving a worthwhile sign up - I've had 3 surveys already each paying £1 and they're much more interesting that the normal surveys due to the variation in topics
I've also managed to figure out how QuickFile works so now I have nice and tidy accounts

Fantastic start - You will find you end up trading work that is low paid for higher paid stuff. It's the nature. Everyone starts on surveys lol

regarding edig - when you do them don't obsess over writing in the boxes. One good sentence is more than enough

That is so true.
Now Edig is priority for me earning wise now as it pays the most compared to other things like normal surveys etc.

I completed my first telephone mystery shopping task yesterday over the phone. I followed all the instructions carefully, so hopefully that will be a good boost to my February total.

I've had a £3 payout from Streetspotr, and my payment from my first mystery shop. I've also made a start on my eDig surveys. My first one got rejected on a technicality but I corrected that and resubmitted it!

Also unexpectedly found myself in my hometown within working hours so managed to do one of the Streetbees tasks before the shops closed. If my pictures are good enough hopefully that's £4 to add to Feb as well.

I'm really surprised at how well things have gone in my first month. My accounts summary is showing £99 invoiced (£79 received, £20 due) and £32 expenses, so a profit of £67 :-D When it gets to the end of the month I'll do a summary of what I have earned where.
