What sort of EV do the offers have that you are doing? Might it be better to be a bit more selective and focus on the least risky ones until you get back into positive territory?
I don't know. I probably should be selective with offers. But, it's hard to change my mindset since I've been doing this way 4+ years. I know most people do +EV only. I practically do all offers. And it paid off.
My only rule has always been: play with money that I can afford to lose.
But, things started to turn bad this year. Ah, I meant to say "the worst YEAR", not month in my previous post. I've had the worst month this year.
Anyway, here's an example.
The screenshot is from 2 months ago. Look at the daily loss of £457.80 and £653.09. It's ridiculous. It's not because I was doing all the offers. It's my buy-in. When I know I made a bit of money, I'd increase my buy-in for a bonus to £100, £150 or £200 instead of the usual less than £50. It was ok to do that in the previous years because there were many offers available and more money made.
But, not this year.
So, I set a daily loss at £250 since March this year. At any point I reach £250 loss, then I'd stop. Not one month has gone by sticking to this "rule" hence a meagre profit.
So, I created this thread to remind me and appreciate the money. And keep a tight leash.
If I'd maintained £250 loss max, the profit for Aug would have been close to £1,400. My year to date profit would have been much higher than just over £2,000.
These (£457.80 & £653.09) are the moments when I say, "why did I do that?" "why didn't I just put £40 buy-in?". It's not "why did I do the offers?"
Looking at this month, I don't have that moment. So, this thread is working. But, this month was just terrible. In every month in the past
with no exception, I had days of £200+ profits throughout the month that balance out bad days; pretty much like the screenshot. Plus occasional bigger wins (at least once or twice a month).
But, this month, the highest win I had was £129.00. That's it.
Phew..... sorry for the long rambling. Just trying to decide my next move. Stop the whole thing or carry on.
Depending on how the rest of the month goes, it may not be a terrible idea to just walk away from the whole thing.
Another bad day - definitely can't go on as it is.
