Just joined the site and I've really enjoyed reading what you've been doing! I've got an 8 month old so looking into what I can fit in around her to earn some cash. I was made redundant while pregnant and I'm planning on working for myself but in the meantime need to bring some money in!

Thank you so much @fajita I'm so pleased you are enjoying the diary! Our little ones are nearly the same age. Very sorry to hear about your redundancy and I hope it opens up lots of new opportunities for you. There seems to be so much out there! I'm just starting to look into T shirt design which I've been looking forward to trying.

I'm writing about my experiences in detail on my blog moneyformummy.co.uk. You might have taken a look already, but if not and you have a few minutes I'd love to know what you think of the site :D

OK time for a roundup of the last few days of July!

26 July
£2 PopulusLive
£3 Streetbees
$0.54 Crowdsurf

27 July
$0.43 Crowdsurf
$0.50 Scribie

29 July
£14 RedWigWam and another batch of milkshakes

30 July
$1.93 Crowdsurf
$10 UserTesting

31 July
£0.05 Surveybods

Crowdsurf is definiltely my favourite transcription service so far. I had some really easy ones to do on the 30th. I just wish the transcription wasn't so poorly paid! I think it does get better as you go up the ranks, but at the moment I'm put off from doing it by how long it takes vs how much I earn from it.

Wow, into August already! That's come around so quickly.

July was mainly about focusing on the blog. I spent a lot of time on it and made lots of tweaks but now I'm really pleased with how it is looking. There's still some work to do as I'm getting some really valuable constructive feedback on where I can improve it. Fitting it all in around feeding/playing/napping and actually doing the money making activities I'm blogging about is a challenge, but I'm enjoying it. At least I now have a solid foundation to build on.

Even though the money making got sidelined a bit, I am really pleased with my overall total for July.

Mystery Shopping
£10 Grass Roots
£11 ESA
£12 ProInsight
£4 Retail Active
£7 Ipsos

Phone Apps
£21.50 Streetbees
£4 Roamler
£53 RedWigWam
£2.14 Roamler via referral

Surveys
£12 PopulusLive
£3.80 SurveyBods
£1.17 CuriousCat
£0.51 Qmee

Website Testing
$30 UserTesting
$8 uTest
£5 WhatUsersDo

Transcription
$2.90 Crowdsurf
$2.18 TranscribeMe
$0.50 Scribie

With the exchange rate that makes this month's total round about £180! Really happy with that.

August aims: setting up T shirt printing, building up the blog readership and making the improvements that have been suggested.

I love your blog. Clean and so easy to read.. I keep meaning to bookmark it, but I'm too lazy and just link to it from your diary here (glad I can see your link from my phone now!). My little baby is now 18 months old.. time flies!

Right, time to get August rock and rolling!

Only £3 Streetbees earning yesterday, but I did get a lot of research done on T shirt printing. I re50 ally like the look of Teemill. Great values and because I'm interested in designing baby and kids clothes I think the promises of 100% organic and sustainable practices will appeal to my target market.

Today:

£7 RedWigWam
£7.50 Retail Active
£8 ESA

Spent £12 on some Lego figures on eBay to experiment with selling on Bricklink

So a nice start :)

A busy few days for me, but here's a run down of what I've been up to!

3 August

£7 RedWigWam
£3 BeMyEye

4 August

$0.70 Enroll (my first job with them and I was expecting it to pay me $10 the same as the other website testing sites. I was really disappointed with this small amount! Shame as their format of clicking on bits of websites you like and typing comments from them is great)
£14 RedWigWam (the last of the milkshake tasks! I have a cupboard full now lol)
£6 BeMyEye
£7 ProInsight

5 August

£8 Ipsos (I hope I get this one as I realised I made a mistake on it after I submitted it and it's still pending validation)

6 August

£11 React
£7.50 Retail Active
£7 BeMyEye (it could have been £13 but my bloody phone ran out of battery and I forgot to take my powerbank out! Annoying!)

7 August

£0.75 SurveyBods
£12 ESA (note for the future, the train ticket tasks are NOT worth doing! A lot of work for the money and my credit card took a big hammering from buying expensive tickets. I really hope they all get approved and reimbused fully!)
£4 Mystery Shoppers

8 August

£5 GfK
£18 ESA

Current total for the month £127 approx. (depending on exchange rate). Very pleased with that considering it's not even halfway through yet! And I've had quite a lot of free sushi as a result of a couple of the tasks. Love sushi lol.

I did have to have a word with myself after Monday as I took way too much on and ended up getting really stressed out. My husband has offered to take the baby for a day on Sunday so I will be having my first day off since she was born and I'm planning to make the most of it! Means I will need to make time to do my blog post on Saturday instead of Sunday this week.

At the end of the week I have a really great ESA task that will pay £40 but will take about 3/4 hours. husband is taking care of our little girl for that one as well. I think she would get quite bored otherwise!

Next week I have 1 mystery shop, but also my Leapforce exam. I finally got the invite after a good couple of months wait. I hope I can pass it now. Going to start reading the guidelines this week.

I doubt there is one person on here who that hasn't happened to. At the start of our online money making journeys we tend to say YES to everything just because, well, it's money we didn't have before!

As times goes on and you drop anything that is low paid or not giving you want you want from it you will have a far more balanced life!!

Well done on getting an invite to the Leapforce exam, what's the position?

Sorry for the silence, it's been a very busy few days with lots of exciting things on the go.

9 August

£9 ESA
£6 BeMyEye
£5 GfK
$0.40 Enroll
£0.90 Surveybods

10 August

This was the day of my big ESA task! It involved scanning a LOT of barcodes and many hours in a supermarket. I got a bit frustrated with how long it was taking because I was being as efficient as I could be. After scanning the barcodes I had to count a LOT of shelves. I mean, there was over a 1000! I never even thought about how many shelves there actually were in a supermarket. Anyway, I came home pretty grumpy and disgruntled. I emailed ESA and happily they agreed to increase my fee so I felt much better about the fact it took me 6.5 hours instead of 3.5-4. They were really good about it actually.

So,
£60 ESA
£5 GfK

11/12 August

No work over the weekend as I spent all day writing my next blog post on Saturday ready to have my first ever mummy day off on the Sunday. Baby's dad and grandparents looked after her for the day while I relaxed and did a sewing project. I haven't been near my sewing machine for months so I was really excited. Made the girl a really cute little dress. She had fun playing with the toy emporium that is grandma and grandads house!

13 August

Today I started the massive task that was reading the Leapforce guidelines in preparation for my exam. I was reading all day but struggle to break the back of it!

14-17 August

Dedicated to completing the Leapforce exam, which took hours. It was difficult to get a grasp of how many questions I would need to answer so I did a bit of hunting online. I came across passleapforceexam.com which was SO useful. It explained the exam process and helped me to plan my time. There is also loads of useful info about Appen, Lionbridge and uTest.

Also:
£2 Populus Live
£8 ESA
£0.65 Surveybods

18 August

No work on the Saturday as I was at a hen party winning at go karting :D Well, at least I thought I was because no one overtook me. Turned out I was wrong, or at least the karting company's recording system was (in my opinion...). Competitive? Me?

Sunday - finishing the Leapforce exam and writing my blog post.

19 August

I spent the day writing for a paid blog post I had been offered. It was one of 2, but it turned out they didn't need the first one after all. I've kept the draft in my WP account so I can use it for my own blog if it isn't needed.

20 August

Today was all about nervously awaiting my Leapforce results. They just came in, and... I failed.

Bum.

Well, actually that's an understatement. I'm really annoyed. I thought it had gone OK, even though it was really hard. It's so hard to assess what went wrong when you don't get any feedback. I now need to motivate myself to do the retake at the start of next month. So many more hours  Any tips or experiences with the retake would be appreciated!

On a more positive note, I got the second blog post written and sent that off, so hopefully some money for that coming my way soon.

Oh, and a cheeky £0.70 Surveybods survey

Tomorrow/Thursday I won't be working much as I need to get packed ready for going away to Scotland over the bank holiday weekend. Really looking forward to a nice break with the family.

I literally can't believe that 'how to pass the leapforce exam' page exists

Which part of the leapforce exam did you fail on? this was WSE yeah? You get told in real time once you complete each part apart from 3 so I assume you got that far????

I know! I guess he doesn't really say anything which you don't already know from the guidelines, and he doesn't reveal what the guidelines actually contain.

Yes it was WSE. So I definitely passed the theory. Then I got part 2 and 3 both at the same time. I was confused by this because their instructions said I would need to pass part 2 to get part 3. I didn't get any confirmation about whether I had passed part 2. All of the tasks went to my phone - I was only expecting this for part 3. I don't know if they have changed the exam format and not updated their instructions!
