You may have seen the ITV guy in the betting area doing one today. But when talking to one of the bookies earlier than that they admitted they had agreed a different price with a 'big' punter. If you have a tenner don't expect much, but with a grand I expect you can negotiate
ah right yeah so my £5 bet ain't gonna make them change the odds then!!

I wish Matt Chapman was on with the bookies. He was wasted in the 'social stable', he's such a good character for racing which you need as the sport if a very 'by the numbers' thing anyway

They had a smaller team this year. Last year they had two on the social stable, two with the bookies, and two doing the 'fashion' so they had to spread it a bit, and the guy who they used with the bookies would not have been good on the Social Stable

yeah i thought that, I'm glad they've dropped the fashion however having been to Cheltenham before it is a BIG thing and those tents they use to create the 'village' with all the stuff you can buy in it are HUGE!!!!!

They did have the 'fashion experts' yesterday for Ladies Day, but that was it

ah might have missed that bit while I was travelling back from york lol

Channel 4 just shit the bed with racing coverage at the very end as they knew they were losing the rights and then today they've got 2 people from it working with the ITV crew. It's only when you then watch At The Races / Sky Racing that you realise all these people are freelance and Matt Chapman is on ATR as are most of them!

Nick Luck and Emma Spencer I think are still on Racing UK as well

Was also interesting this week when they were talking about the BetBright issue where the technology behind that site has been sold off and BetBright cancelled everyone's anti post bets!!

It was the new owner 888Sport that (initially) cancelled them. They did change their mind quite quickly though. The 888 guy was there - as he is an owner of some of the runners - so they did have a dig at him, but he brushed it off saying they were now honouring them (and that they had only bought the technology anyway)

I think this was, without doubt, the story of the day at Cheltenham

a great day for the women!
Yeah, her interview was a classic. She also didn't realise until later it was the first Grade 1 winner for a woman either, so that was another good interview.

is that rich ricci? Something always seems slightly 'off' about him whenever he appears on TV to me lol

Forgot to do the betway 17.30 last night :(

Still i think ive got £25 of free bets for today though! Plus skybet and the two betway races today means i should make £40-50 hopefully. Should take me over £500 for the month today!

They'll never beat John Mccruick, if you remember him. He did all the wavy arm thing and used to turn round and shout all sorts of abuse at the crowd if they started calling out or jeering him.

for me i do the bulk of Cheltenham bets 11-12am

then price boosts after 12pm

and horse refunds if I hit one after that
Snap! But after @jkg-jkg 's great info above, I have used some of my tiny daily allowance for "real" betting today by punting on a couple of acca's.

Hopefully will be a good day today... I should be getting better after 3 days of practice! Good luck everyone.

Because of the refund they always have poor odds until near the off (it is the same on Saturday), when they start to follow the on course odds. As it is a full refund and a I have had a good festival I have punted on the favourite anyway
