I agree with Danny about the acca software, it could be helpful in the short term but in the long term I'm sure it will lead to faster gubbing.
It will be patently obvious to bookies when lots of people all hop onto the same configuration of acca. This is the kind of thing they already look out for, so I can't see how the acca software won't make it easier for them. Also if you pick your own matches, you can use your judgement about the kind of game it is and whether it is likely to arouse suspicion.
What I wonder about match catcher is if it is offering close matches, doesn't that go against the new PA advice of not taking high value matches?
Yes and no... for me I have NEVER done the ones in the close match thread that involve a) a team I haven't heard of or b) anything less than top leagues.
As [member=3664]alexnied[/member] says... If you're doing an acca that is:
Leicester
Arsenal
Barcelona
Bayern
Juventus
Who are all playing poor sides and all favourites to win... that's an obvious acca surely, a load of people are going to use similar teams in some combination... and yes, everyone will be starting different days, with different legs... so one might be as above, the other might drop Leicester and add on PSG at the end... SO many combinations for 6+ legs.
Where the acca software will lead to gubbings is those SAME OLD STUPID people who will flood the bookies with a ton of 6 folds at £50 a pop having never done any trebles or doubles... never vary their stakes... GUBSVILLE.
For us savvy ones, we'll do:
£50 6 leg all low odds favourites
£25 8 leg
£30 5 leg with one higher odds
£40 mug double (no refund)
etc etc etc. All stakes and legs varied, all top teams and avoiding even Championship games. I would rather stick to Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and that's it and do fewer accas, than have loads going with lower league teams.
I DO STILL WORRY about Match Catcher as [member=2607]stonecrows[/member] says... if you ONLY jump on the horse bet as there's a close match, won't they notice?
HOWEVER - and maybe [member=2600]Flexit[/member] [member=1315]Pbrail[/member] will know more... what I've seen from dipping my toe in the water is the odds change SO rapidly. You can jump on a close match and in 1-2 minutes it's suddenly a terrible match. Do the bookies know that exact moment that you jumped it was a close match? Does it even matter... is it only SP that matters?
There's so much I don't know about horse refunds. All I know is ONLY do them Saturdays, don't always do max stakes, don't overdo them.
