Hi [member=1558]OCTOPUS[/member]

Does video mystery shopping really pay better than the likes of Task360/Field Agent etc in terms of the amount of work required vs how much you get paid?

I have signed up to mysterydining to see what comes of that. I guess we will have to wait and see. Has anyone else used them?

Tried mystery dining but they didn't need anyone in my area. Just started doing live mystery shopping (done lots for digital before) and I think I need to leave my empathy at home. I was thinking the server was a nice lady and I was willing her to ask me things so I could tick them off in the report. I was thinking, that's a shame, I hope she doesn't get in to trouble now. Also had a dilemma when doing the description of her build, and hoping she didn't find out I called her stout. ;D (she was to be fair, but I felt mean putting it in...). Only done two so I guess I'll stop being such a wuss about it when I've done a few more...

Bare in mind people that your car insurance could go up if you say that's what you do as they presume you are travelling about and possibly carrying merchandising equipment ( trays, large displays, cardboard cut outs etc in the case of some companies)

Technically, if you doing mystery shopping anyway don't you have to tell them this when applying for car insurance? Also at what point do you have to tell the home insurance people you work from home? I'm doing stuff online, I don't have any stock or customers coming to my house so are they supposed to be told? I'm a newbie to this so I don't want to get caught out. When I've been self employed before I've not had to travel to mystery shops or anywhere so advice would be appreciated please x

Yes, I would also be interested to know if you have to declare that you work from home on your home insurance, if purely doing online surveys etc.

From what I understand you need public liability if you have people visiting you but besides that your insurer should be ok just covering a laptop etc, as part of your contents insurance, however you'd want to ask your individual company.

This may help a little (down the bottom)

BIB - Definitely. I did one for a large retailer, one of the questions was about staff wearing a name badge. Just as she walked over to me she put a fleece on (its one of those huge shops that have no heating) covering up the badge before I got her name. She was sooooo lovely and did everything else as she was supposed to and I felt so bad saying I couldn't see her badge :(

Hello - and Hi to everyone - complete newbie on here
At the moment I earn my crust (well one of them) by working for various mystery shopping companies and from trial and error methods I have found that I need to approach a 'tactical' method and this has enabled me to manage better return than the ridiculous fees there are offering!

I am not quite sure how to on here - but I have been asked to 'recruit' mystery shoppers for a reputable UK company. The fee is great:)
I have completed the ONE assignment you can do for them each year (but every little helps to fill the pot!). The fee is between £50 - £75 - so worth getting out of bed for.

I need name, address and phone number and have been asked to do a monthly recruitment. - Ran an advert on Streetlife - but when I asked their permission to post a Nationwide advert and run it monthly I got a cold response:(

Could someone let me know how I go about this on TMS.

Hi [member=3978]louisevarney[/member]

I have no problem with you recruiting for them (can you tell us who they are please) however you are going to have to get your post count above 10 on here to get access to the PM system so people can contact you.

It would probably help with the trust issue as well as a new user with 1 post asking for people to send them their details may not get the same response as an established poster who contributes to the site.

Hello
Sorry for the vagueness! - suffering from information overload have been trying to teach myself affiliate marketing and decided it's probably a waste of my time.

The agency is Ragdoll Recruitment - after I told them I was hoping to write a website on working from home and money saving (failing! - think I will try blogging first)

They asked me to do a monthly recruit - basically Ragdoll is Lloyds Bank own brand of mystery shopping they have opened their own mystery shopping company and it involves going into a branch and performing an audio interview, which they send you the audio equipment and pay for the return signed postage. Takes about 45 minutes, but you can only do one a year.

I am not allowed to disclose the company when recruiting, have pasted my advert I used on Streetlife, they have also requested my absolute discretion if I use social media too.

My ad is below:

Mystery Shopping
Have you always wanted to be a mystery shopper? This could be your chance to take part in a new mystery shopper project.
I am an authorised recruiter for a leading company based in Bristol. They will contact you with a full brief.
If you are interested in taking part:
Either PM me with:
1. Your name and address
2. Mobile Number
3. Email address

The incentive is £50-75 per assignment depending on the criteria.
*I would like assure everyone that this is a genuine opportunity, and I have taken on assignments for this company. There are assignments in most areas.

Regards
Louise:)

MSL MYSTERY SHOPPING

Lots of facebook/twitter, email and telephone currently available. £5 each.
Not many questions to answer, have not completed yet as waiting for email confirmation, but look easy.

Hi - I am a recruiter for Ragdoll they have one assignment you can do a year and pays between £50 to £75 - so well worth getting out of bed for!

pm me your name, address and mobile number - they normally call you within a couple of days.
The tasks are via audio equipment recording and they send you the equipment and pay for signed postage to return it, No forms to fill out - just make an appointment, do the task and return the equipment. I did one and it was great not having to write up report at the end of the assignment.

Hi all, just had a quick browse of this! I did mystery shopping years and years ago but gave it up as the long handwritten reports were just too much for the not so great pay.
Wondering if it's the same nowadays?
The mystery shopping apps work great for me as it's quick, simple and with my ever changing schedule I can pick up/drop jobs at a moment's notice.
Are mystery shops still as detailed nowadays and do you have to book it in advance etc.
Thanks so much!

All jobs are done online into forms that I know of. I find it depends on the company and the type of job, on how long the forms/surveys take. Some companies are really particular you have to answer lots of questions and in the way they like. Best company for shortest survey that I have found is ESA. YOu can also answer most of them on tablet or phone, or PC and they they pay reasonably well. Also I like GFK as they do postal and telephone jobs which are quick to do pay about £3 per call and form is not too long, these jobs are not there all the time you need to sign in each day to check. Once a year May to July are when they do the most of there telephone jobs, also emails as well. Other good company MSL
Worst companies for long forms are Market Force and React, however React does pay pay quite well, , most jobs I have dòne for them pay between £10 - £18. They are very particular in reports though, you have to use certain titles for staff, and use good grammar throughout as they score each job.

I've just joined Retail Active an am interested in doing an assignment. I noted the application said '70 questions' which seems a lot - does anyone know whether some of this will be multiple choice or is it likely all 70 questions will have boxes to write free text? Thanks! :)
