is there a reason you think you wouldn't be able to get a payment holiday?

I would have thought no financial institution wants to look bad and not offer one right now!
I'm quite lucky insofar as I have no mortgage. However, even a month pressing pause on utilities and mobile phone would be gratefully received. I may well go for that. It'll give me a chance to breathe and find a new routine.

Worth looking at Amazon and the major supermarkets as they are apparently recruiting temporary staff at the moment. Might help fill a gap in finances for the people struggling.

My son woke me up at 6.50am excited to give me his hand drawn picture. My first thought was ‘brilliant, let’s make the day last even longer’! We then climbed a steep hill early this morning to avoid other people. I’m so grateful it’s been nice weather as it’s doom and gloom enough right now.

I feel useless being at home. I wish we had a bit more guidance from on high. I am definitely getting mixed messages if I should stay in or not. A few years ago as a nurse I would have been on the front line. I wonder if it is all worth it. The amount of damage this is going to the world economy will probably cause more deaths in the long run.

It seems that lockdown in Lombardy meant going to work or going to the shops. They are now going further and shutting more shops, building sites-except hospital, roads and railways. Banks and public transport have been operating.

If it comes to it will mean staying inside and not going out at all unless it is essential so for food or an emergency. Only those deemed on the front line will be able to go to work, everything else will stop. There are circumstances that we will all face like needing a plumber and if any are working than I would assume they can be called, again if deemed essential...!!! in Wuhan even food was being brought to homes but they have a different living style so it was able to be done, not sure how that would work here.

The issue we have is facebook was full of people out and about yesterday in the sunshine, many taking precautions to stay away from others but many many more not, I have relatives in Italy, they live in a small village and they say it is easy to self isolate as they don't see people every day normally and can go into the countryside easily and never see anyone, but in the cities, no one is staying in and staying away from others so the virus keeps spreading. That is what is happening still here.

The stay at home propaganda is starting to annoy me actually.

They are acting like people with the virus are giving off poison gas. They are not.

You are still much more likely to get it by touching surfaces someone has coughed on or wiped germs over, or someone coughing directly at you. Walking past someone in a park isn't going to transmit the virus to you unless they stop to breathe all over you or decide to give you a hug.

I need to get my haircut soon. That's not likely to happen now is it. We're all gonna look like Rip van Winkle by the end of this or have home made haircuts with the kitchen scissors.

Have you seen that twitter post going around where someone has completed a half marathon in their back garden using Strava (I think it was Strava) to monitor it? That's some dedication that.

Frankly, #goals.

I had just started Couch to 5K. I am now inspired to complete it in my back garden.

It’s going well...we have all completed PE with Joe, had a play in the garden, watched a science experiment online and watched news round. I’ve sent my eldest up to her room for throwing a pencil across the classroom, I mean dining room as my other two have detailed timetables and her teacher hasn’t uploaded her any work. She’s not really a self starter.

I have just had my standard identity appointment for UC. Fortunately for me, and them, it was carried out over the phone and I did not need to go in and do it face to face. I was only informed of this an hour before my interview was due but I'm not complaining. They just asked me some simple questions to see if it matched their systems information and that was that. No passport, driving licence, bank statements or anything. Next will be my job coach interview on Wednesday. This is standard stuff you have to go through even though there are not many jobs out there. Then I wait my five weeks and payment should arrive.

Yep we are all doing an youtube exercise routine later this afternoon, thankfully their school's online systems are working and both kids are busy with school lessons. I will be kicking them into the garden for some fresh air after lunch and I plan to get them to paint the garden wall over Easter while I wash the windows LOL

Daughter has just received an official text to say that she has to stay indoors for 12 weeks from now. That means that we have to stay in too, because there's no point in her being locked down if we go out!
But according to Sainsbury's, because I'm not vulnerable or old, I can't get an online shopping slot. So it's OK if I go out shopping and bring back the virus, as long as she doesn't go out. Erm, and that makes sense how?

I've just had this argument with Sainsbury's on the phone - I'm mum's live-in carer (nearly 84, diabetic, lung calcification, asthma, cognitive issues), and as of Wednesday of last week, my neurologist hadn't had confirmation whether I'd be on 12 week lockdown too - no idea if I'll get a letter or not (I suspect not). They've got a real "computer says no" checklist at Sainsbury's, unfortunately.

It makes a mockery of the whole stay at home thing if other household members have to go out to get food! I can't even get through to Sainsburys to put my case!

So do we think this lockdown will come tonight? Tomorrow? Will we even be able to go out for a walk / run? Will it just be all beaches / parks / tourist points they are applying the lockdown to?
