I need to submit more pages to google I think as my page per views are inaccurate on google analytics.

Not sure what you mean here?
If you have submitted a sitemap and have All in One SEO plug-in installed, it automatically pings any newly published content to Google and Bing.
You can, however, manually do it too by using the "Fetch as Google" option and the equivalent one for Bing.

Why do you think the GA stats are wrong?

I didn't realise you were using blogger rather than wordpress - setting up GA might be different. I had the "double tracking code" problem at the start. Easy to notice since you get double recorded visits - so if all of your pages have even number of visits, it's probably that problem.

Re: Kiarna's Hustle!

Heads in a spin now lol I've looked on GA and got the tracking code...It says you should paste it into every page on your site... Trying to figure out if I did this or not :-\ Erm, I'll have to look at my template then.

Do you have access to header files and plug-ins etc with blogger? I use All in One SEO plug in and I just copy and paste tracking code into a text box and it does all the rest.

Re: Kiarna's Hustle!

I have access to altering the html. I've just re-positioned the code above the <head> tag. It was in a different place. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Blogger is say i've 3,000 odd this month and yet google is saying 1,438 thats big difference.

Re: Kiarna's Hustle!

I just read this ....

For starters, current days data within GA often isnt an accurate reflection of the current day.
Processing latency of 24hrs in GA isnt considered unusual or out of the norm.

Reason they are so different is because they are two completely different types of tracking.

GA doesnt generally track non-human traffic (as far as i know blogger stats do)
Blogger stats are just that . stats, good for a quick overview of blog traffic however it doesnt offer
the configuration or integration options that GA offers (GA is an industry used web analytics solution).

Bit of info as to why some differences may occur between different web tracking solutions.

To get the most out of using GA you may want to get better acquainted with it via the Free Analytics Academy
https://analyticsacademy.withgoogle.com/course

eta..also tracking code should be in your html template just before the closing </head> tag

Which code did you put above the head tag? Do you have a screenshot?

Was that above the head tag or closing head tag?

Re: Kiarna's Hustle!

Not sure if you can see that clearly or not. Placed it at the top, above the head tag.

The code should be after the head tag and before the closing head tag. I have never done it this way before, but you need to be very careful when tinkering with he code so you don't break your site.

Re: Kiarna's Hustle!

I haven't got an opening <head> tag though.... Can't I just write that part in at the start of the code? I'm scared lol

Line 13 is your opening head tag <head>

All of your GA code / GWT code / BWT code go underneath it, but before the </head>

You can check that GA is working by going onto the "Real Time" part of GA and visiting your own site. If it shows you on the little map visiting the site, then it is working. Once it's working, you can filter out your own IP to avoid distorting stats.

Re: Kiarna's Hustle!

I think you need to cut the part from <script> to </script> and paste it into the line underneath the <head> tag.
You will need to create a space for it first.

Yes you do and no you're not.
In future, it is always a good idea to copy and paste your entire header file contents into a plain text editor (and save it) just in case you balls it up. That way, you can easily undo any errors.

That looks much better!
Now go and check that it is working by visiting your site and seeing if it shows up in GA Real Time.

Re: Kiarna's Hustle!

I can't see any Google Webmaster Tools or Bing Webmaster Tools code under the <head> tag.
I don't know if you have tried to set them up yet, but the verification codes will just go either above or below the GA code that you have just added.
Let me know if you need any help with GWT or BWT set up.

PS. That's probably the first and last time that you will ever get help from a Lawyer without it bankrupting you! ;)
