Currently playing Borderlands2

I'm not sure if I'm enjoying it or not.

At least it was free on the PSN+ so it hasn't cost me anything.

I think @Chammy has one

I used to be uber Nintendo. Owned a NES, SNES, N64 and Gamecube!!

then they sort of crapped the bed with the Wii / WiiU and I haven't been back since!

I own 2 :p

Well worth the money, we don't play them as much at the moment but that's because we have a lot going on but I love that I can just slump back on the sofa with it in my hand or if we have friends over we can break out Mario Kart.

Our 10 year old loves it, especially Let's Go Eevee.

I gave the Switch Lite a whirl at BlogOn and it's an interesting machine, very much aimed at people on the go who are more DS players as it doesn't hook up to the TV and the JoyCons are fixed in place. Much lighter than the regular Switch, feels better in your hands and the colours are awesome!

Right so is that not just a very large handheld then!

I know I come from a time of the GameBoy, Game Gear and SUPER LARGE Atari Lynx but I would say due to portable gaming moving so much to smartphones these days is carrying around semi large portable device just a chore?

Or have I got this wrong and this 'light' version of the switch is smaller than the regular switch in size?

Overall it's lighter in weight and smaller than the Switch, but not by much. Feels much more comfortable in the hands than the Switch though. I mean, the regular Switch is the superior product because you can connect it to the TV, you have the detachable JoyCons, the VR kit for it (which you can't use with the Lite) and it allows for 2 player on one console but the Lite is basically the newer DS.

I may invest

I dunno.. I still LOVE playing through Super Mario 1& 3 and Super Mario World at lease once a year through SNES Minis and the like...

Those games are just utter classics!

Thank you that's really helpful :) my son is also 10 and been asking for one for a while. We have a PS4 which he enjoys but they have to share it and he wants a device he can play with others and by himself that just belongs to him! :)

I met up with my godson yesterday and him and his sister was playing on a switch.

The fact the two of them could play on the screen at the same time was a life-saver (according to their dad).

The new 'lite' is cheaper BUT is limited in functionality to the switch. I'm sure a 2nd hand switch can be got for the price of the lite and I think that is probably the best option.

Absolutely zero point in buying a PlayStation pro now then

I await the amazon pre order page...

I agree. I imagine there will be a huge price-drop on the Pro over xmas.

I bought my PS4 on pre-order and used amazon credit to pay it off over a few months (before launch).

When it came to launch day I got an email saying due to high volumes I'd not get mine fulfilled and they'd ship to people who ordered first.

I had a LONG arguement with CS to say I had ordered on the day pre-orders opened, I'd just assigned amazon credit to it regularly. The CS agent said that every time I'd added amazon credit to pay it off, it actually considered that day to be the day I made the order.

I got one the next day from amazon (after escalating) but it was a lesson for me not to piss about once I'd pre-ordered.

Which I will do

For the PS5

haha yeah at work we all pre ordered ps4s from amazon. I had the bundle with killzone and battlefield 4

Everyone took the day off work to get them. Some poor guy got his and after the 2nd attempt it wouldn't turn on anymore so he had to get sony to collect the ps4 from work and organise a replacement. Well you can imagine how quick all that was in happening during a worldwide launch lol

Just killzone for me.

I got it delivered to work. Took it home, set it up, went to bed. Played it the next evening.

Don't forget the controllable trigger resistence/pressure.

That sounds cool.

but who am I kidding, another COD, Another Assassin's Creed game, and then hopefully a 4th Bioshock and then, with every available digit cross, HL3

PS5 =

P= 15th letter of the alphabet = 15/5 = 3!
S= 19th letter of the alphabet = 19/5 = 3 (if rounded down)
5= 5th number = 5/5 = 1 (there is only 1 lord and god, our savious, Gabe)

HL3 CONFIRMED!

So Google Stadia which is Google's 'gaming' platform and lets you play games via streaming to your phone, Chrome browser, Chrome Laptop is not off to the best of starts this week

I don't get how they are getting it so wrong as they must have the infrastructure to back it all up!

They are giving games like Destiny 2 and Mortal Kombat on this service and both of those are 'flinch' games where every millisecond counts so any sort of lag is just going to be a nightmare for the player!

I see Microsoft last week said at the press conference that they still see the future of gaming in owning a local console and I have to agree!
