When I was in the sixth form, I worked at Blackpool Tower for one day in the summer holidays.

Blackpool attracts weirdos like moths to a buglight and I remember being taken to the staffroom, deep, deep down in the basement where I had to sit with a motley crew of about 30, and I think I was the only local, everyone else being from Scotland, Manchester or somewhere else out of town. Looking at them, they looked like a collection of thieves, druggies and sex offenders, and here I was, 16 and wondering what the hell I was doing there.

We were told to fill out a basic form (name, address, bank details etc). 10 minutes max, 15 at a push if you're not a quick writer.

TWO hours later, people were still struggling with the forms. Because I'd filled mine in and I wore glasses, I'd been dubbed 'The Professor' (cheers guys) and spent most of this time helping people to fill their forms in. They were totally dumb, 'Where it says address, does that mean where I live?'.

Thankfully, it was at last the time to start my first shift and I was taken up to one of the floors where there was a pizza bar. My 'training' consisted of 5 minutes on the till and then pizza training, which was a bloke showing me a chart with the different combinations on that took about two minutes. I was left on my own, middle of summer to cook pizzas and serve at the same time too. I was sixteen and could barely toast a piece of bread never mind cook a pizza so I did a runner after about an hour.

Never again!

I have a few tales like that to tell too from being around that age :D work trials for jobs you really weren't suited for whatsoever and you couldn't wait to get out of there as quickly as you could! Luckily they never seemed to matter much as I never seemed to really need the money that badly back then, I probably thought I did at the time but it was never a case of you must work or you will starve. Apart from one I did as a new graduate, it was commission only telesales selling advertising space, I fully expected to get the job as I had done telesales before and always done well at it before, but it was unpaid work for 3 days and if you got a sale by the end of the 3 days you got the job and got paid and if you didn't get a sale you didn't get the job and didn't get paid. I had borrowed £50 off a friend in the expectation that I would get the job and get paid but I didn't get the job and I couldn't pay him back and I felt really bad about it :( that experience taught me (and him too I guess!) an important lesson though

Hmmm.

A few years ago I jumped on the eBay bandwagon and sold fake LV bags and Rolex watches. I never claimed they were genuine, they were obviously priced as fakes. But I didn't like it. Well I don't like selling on eBay at all.

The worst job I had was in a turkey factory at Christmas. I spent 2 weeks plucking feathers out of turkeys on a night (had a day job too) and almost lost the will to live. Couldn't have stomached turkey at Christmas and have genuine respect for people that juggle 2 jobs, because it was utter hell.

A journalism student who can't tell the difference between "worse" and "worst"?

The WORST job I had was delivering yellow pages. Super boring and not particularly lucrative.

Sold the engagement and wedding ring of my ex and got about £400 from Tesco Gold Exchange about 3 years ago. ;) Clubcard points too - 'Every little helps' as they say!

This really pi$$ed her off but considering how much she gets in child maintenance it's a drop in the ocean.

He's supposedly been doing a PhD for the last 5 years, a strange decision for a man with two kids to support!

CSA have been trying for years but have never managed to come up with anything..when I used to cry down the phone to them, as has been known! - they used to say don't you think this situation is just as frustrating for us as it is for you :D

Just seem to have been getting it from all sides in the past few years - my own employment situation, my partners employment situation, lack of financial support from my daughters dad, the government freezing and cutting everything :D

From what I've heard from numerous friends, CSA are great if your ex is earning a salary or benefits, but if they're self employed/ 'studying' or just a bit of a bastard, you might as well not bother...

Never had this problem myself but usually C&W help are great at getting back to you - so hopefully not too long to wait.

I have a link in my signature of my favourite paying websites so you may want to check that out to see if there are any that you're missing.
