"What is the worse thing you've done to earn money and how much did you earn?"

My name is Stephanie Shiel, Im a third year journalism student and I'm writing a story on how the recession has affected us in the UK, I wanted to make it more about what it has done to us and to what extents we are going to, to earn money!
My question is basically "What is the worse thing you've done to earn money and how much did you earn?" the article is more for my final project then to be a published piece of work, so i would really appreciate it if you would share your story with me.
It doesn't matter how bad the job was or for how much it was its more of a survey to see how far the recession has really affected us.

Its not so much the worst thing but I spent some time working as a courier. Okay the job is fine but some days I would drive around in my own car, paying for my own petrol and end up earning the equivalent of about £5 per hour........................... utter madness.

I've heard that story many times before from people who uses to be a courier. Once you factor all those things in the rate of pay can be awful!

The nuisance is that it's a pleasant enough way of earning money .

The worst I've done is a cold calling job from home. This was a couple of years ago, and I think one or two others from this forum got the job, too. The system automatically called people and I had to read a dodgy script about buying food baskets from a farm. It was soul destroying, and I hated every second of it. I couldn't blame the people on the other end of the line for being annoyed because I'd be the same.

All in all, I lasted about 2 hours on the job and then quit. I just couldn't do it, and I told myself I'd never take another job like that again.

The funny thing about it for me was that I was accidentally good at it. I was upselling without even trying!

I do that and technically it could be good money, the potential is definitely there and I can work 24/7 whenever I like but I do it for a few minutes and get bored, I just can't seem to get into it enough.

Also cold calling for me...whilst at uni. Basically selling timeshare under another name and trying to hoodwink families in to coming to an 'experience day' for which they'd get a free holiday.....of sorts! Horrible, and I never made a booking and got sacked pretty quickly. I think they could tell over the phone that I didn't think much of what I was selling!

I have recently joined a number of money making sites in a bid to get out of debt however I'm not having much luck so far...I downloaded clic and walk and signed up but could not enter my address I did however select the United Kingdom option however it thinks I live in France and are sending me tasks for France I have emailed the help team however I have not had a response yet

Has anybody else encountered this problem?

Hope I don't sound rude... but between all the mystery shopping style apps unless you live in middle of nowhere I'd expect you to be able
To make £20-50 a day with little stress ?? Roamler, field agent, BeMyEye etc

Hope they help £4 per shop may not sound great but door four in one street in under and hour and that's a cracking hourly rate even if it's just for one hour
