I have 40$ in my payoneer account so not enough to cash out :( So annoying the £30 fee especially as i only get paid to payoneer with Appen and Oneforma and work has dried up on both.

I've just heard about Payoneer starting to charge a ridiculous high fee and as I only use it for Appen and there work as dried up I've been trying to close my Payoneer account but can't seem to find anyway of doing this within the settings. When I've googled it and it informs the process but I think it must be out of date as the tab isn't there. Has anyone managed to close there's and if so could you let me know how please?
There was a link in the e mail that they sent about the Account fees which takes you to a contact us page. I have not done mine yet as Appen did send me a job the other day which I applied for so just waiting to see if I get on it, if not I will be closing my account

Could you pay the $3 into your account to make it $50 and then withdraw it, I am not sure if it would work but worth a try.

I think it's time I gave up on Appen and closed my account. I've had no work since February, the project page is dire and I've just read a load of word salad from the new CEO on why it's stock and losses are even worse than last year. Looking at the social board, it also (alarmingly) appears that many users aren't getting paid on time - or at all in some cases, and being ignored by support.

The final straw today was logging into Payoneer to find I've been hit for $16 odd dollars for the pleasure of having no work/pay. I can't work out what happens now. Does Payoneer raid my bank account or do I get invoiced when I close Payoneer? I guess I'm about to find out!

Is anyone here getting anything meaningful (and I don't mean that Appen China thing).

I was on a fairly lucrative, but very short lived project over the end of July/beginning of August which was decent while it lasted - hoping for something similar again soon. Also on one of the search engine projects, but the UK work is few and far between it seems, and I HATE the work itself.

Payoneer is by far the worst company I have ever encountered, I hate them with a passion. It took months of emails before I was able to do what should have been a very simple task of adding another bank account to my Payoneer account. But most of the time they just ignore you. I don't even know how you would even start to delete your account, no doubt it would take years.

As for Appen I still do some of the Arrow Butler task, but it's dribs and drabs right now. This is a shame as there used to be some good jobs going with Appen, but I think all the online companies seem to be in the same boat these days.

Why did they charge you, that's bad :( I've been looking at Appen but can't see anything worth doing either.

It's some sort of underuse fee. I think if you have less than $2k a year or something. I think I will close it all. Appen and Payoneer. I can't be bothered with anymore.

That's true. I think it's just the Payoneer thing that's my final straw.

Never understood why Appen just insists on using Payoneer for payments, most of these companies give you at least another option.

I've also heard stories where Payoneer can just delete your account for no reason, which would obviously mean no more Appen. Just all such a hassle for a few dollars now and again.

Well, I started the closure process this morning and asked about the $16 so we'll see (I shall report back of course)

I got a message from Appen that I was at the next stage for applying to a project. I have a problem with the internal microphone on my laptop. I've watched YouTube videos and tried all the settings with no luck so I may have to get the machine repaired professionally. It's like when I was notified by Neevo of a typing project the day I fractured my wrist. I have all the luck!!!!!

You can pick up a cheap external mic (connectable to your laptop via USB) on Amazon/Ebay for under £10 - this is probably a cheaper option than taking the machine in to be repaired if that's the only thing wrong with it.

Breezie, I appreciate your input but I also tried to get a jack mic to work last night without any joy. I dropped it one day so I wonder if something is amiss as a result of that. I had a webinar via Skype on Monday and couldn't hear or be heard - I did some fiddling with it and managed to get the outgoing audio functioning again - I had a Zoom meeting on Tuesday and I could hear the others but they couldn't hear me. I was in a Zoom meeting last Friday and everything was okay then.

Addendum to yesterday's post. Breezie - and everyone - I emailed my brother who works with computers to see if he had any suggestions. He's sent me a USB headset with mic so I'll see how I fare with that. I see yesterday's post only just registered; I must have forgotten to press the post reply button.
