I'm having the same issue with email not found. I had a message a few days ago saying i needed to complete evaluation but email not found. Another one today from someone else there and same problem. No reply as yet. Very frustrating!

I got sent a link to pre screen test but nothing was loading ..... So annoying

Just got an email from Appen saying that my regular daily gig that I’ve been doing for months has been terminated effective immediately.

No warning, nothing.

I did recently apply to a very similar sounding role with Leapforce (application in progress as we speak) and I wonder if this is what has caused me to get kicked out.

Anyway, I’m gutted. £300 p/m down the pan. Don’t really know what to do with myself

I did recently apply to a very similar sounding role with Leapforce (application in progress as we speak) and I wonder if this is what has caused me to get kicked out.

Ahhh no that’s rubbish news. I’ve no idea what’s going on with Appen at the mo. I applied months ago and then got invited to do the screening etc for WSE post last week. The link wouldn’t work to do said screening (managed to find the tests under the qualifications tab (@Adam trades, if that helps). Did three tests and certain I did really well. Got email Thursday lunch to say, thanks but no thanks. Today got an email asking me to do screening tests again. It’s all very random. Feels like they have some sort of bug in their system.
Have you applied to Leapforce as well? I can imagine how gutted you are. I feel like that each time I get knocked back from these companies and I’ve not yet worked for them. Fingers crossed for you that something comes up.

Leapforce is in process (Nile - praying I get it) but I’m pretty sure that is what alerted Appen to then terminate my contract. Because they would have needed to have opened up a ‘secret area’ of Facebook to me and I already had access to one through Appen.

It was so sudden and seems too much of a coincidence not to be related.

So I guess the lesson here is be careful when applying to both companies... especially if the job sounds pretty much identical.

I would say the mistake here was applying for the same type of project with both companies

for the WSE work Appen has a different client to Leapforce and Lionbridge

For this Social Media NILE type work they clearly have the same client where is where the booboo came

I fully understand it's a kick in the teeth when you lose regular work. I've been there before with ChaCha, 63336 and Leapforce and you spend on a days going OH GOD WHAT AM I GOING TO DO but something else WILL come along to replace that or you will find a way to create they money yourself via stuff like blogging, affiliate marketing, ebaying etc.

I guess we'll have to wait and see but I was thinking surely it's better to state that you do rather than not? As I'm sure it wouldn't be hard for them to find out.

I’ve applied to that too @David Hurley. Nothing is happening at all today. Not even an email from Appen to ask me to do the screening for the fourteenth time, which was last weeks entertainment!

Haha - I am planning on applying Appen but after applying for Lionbridge it's making me all nervous! Ha.

If you google Appen glassdoor reviews there's a lot of comments about it. It might not have anything to do with the leapforce application. How long did you last on it? I think i was nearly 6 months to the day.

I think i was nearly 6 months to the day.

I was doing it for over a year I think. I'm now certain it was because of the other application as I have been accepted onto the LF one and they are completely identical.

I'm still annoyed at losing the Appen work as I worry I won't get asked to do anything else with them. However, it has forced me to apply to other companies and I really hope it will lead onto more opportunities.

What did you do after they gave you the boot? Are you doing something else now?

I’ve just had an email from Appen saying that about 2 months ago they accidentally send me a duplicate payment of $35 and now they want it back.

I didn’t even notice it at the time and obviously it is now spent.

What a joke.

I got invited. But then I got an email saying that the previous survey was incorrect and could I retake the survey. So I clicked on the link in the email only to be told 'You have already taken this survey'.

So not all that helpful overall!!

Thanks for the tip @luckyj142 , same here, I got the 'already done the survey message' but having seen your reply I tried it in Chrome (was in Firefox) and managed to do the survey AGAIN.

Not heard anything from them yet though as of today, 15th Nov
