It's more to do with the connection - it won't recognise where I am for some reason when I'm out and about which is kind of a sticking point lol. Perhaps it's because I use WiFi, but I don't know.
Why you not using 4g on your phone?

Yeah WiFi not a good idea really.. Are you using a really old phone? The app seems fine.. No reports of any issues
Unlikely... But have you made sure location services are on? May be worth Uninstall and reinstall in case it's a localised bug

No, it's not that. Have you got "allow location access" enabled for Roamler? Go to settings on your phone, find Roamler in the list of apps and make sure either Allow location access "while using the app", or allow location access "Always" is ticked.

It's only two years old - location services on ok but I don't have a data plan or anything as I'm on a PAYG, so only ever use WiFi :(

Yeah it's on. Just doesn't seem to want to work when I'm out and about lol - I went to Morrisons to do a task using their WiFi and it pinpointed me as being in Macclesfield or somewhere when I'm in the North East!

@Ar_ - You REALLY need to have data on your sim so you can do this stuff out and about and get a correct location!

Think about it this way, while it might cost you a few quid a month to have data on your phone you will make £££ which will far outweigh it!

yeah, i doubt Wifi use is causing your issue. it should work ok as long as you complete the task at that time, and you have location access granted, have you tried a fresh reinstall? If still having issues try contacting Roamler who should be able to fix or identify the issue

The field agent app is pretty much dead these days. You should be looking at bemyeye instead

You can get a Roamler invite code on here once you get your post count to 10 good quality posts...

Thanks for all the replies so far. :)

Thank you for explaining that to me about Field Agent - I wasn't aware that the app was pretty much dead nowdays, although I was kind of suspecting as much considering how void it's been. It's a shame because I got all excited about it when I first downloaded it. lol :)
I will definitely look into BeMyEye now - so thank you for that. :) And it's nice to know that I could eventually get an invite code on here for Roamler too. :)

I’m new to the site but have been making some money from job spotter. Depends what sort of place you live in I think and whether there are lots of new jobs around. Or if you go to different places a lot then there’s more variety. Checkout smart has phases of being really good with lots of free food but you need to want that type of thing otherwise you’re not really saving money!

Thank you so much for recommending Job Spotter - I do use Job Spotter myself too. :) So far - out of all the "out and about do some tasks/take some photos" kind of apps I've found and attempted to try - Job Spotter has been the only one that has actually been of any use to me, and I've made over £8 on it so far in less than 3 weeks, which I'm very happy with, considering the tasks only require minimum effort. :) But even though it's a great app, and I will definitely be keeping it and using it as much as possible - the problem is of course that there are only so many jobs around for me to find, which is why I really want to find some other apps too that I can alternate between. :)

Roamler is one of the top 2 earning apps... as Jon says the other is BeMyEye... Apps are my thing, i make thousands from Roamler and BME each year.. once you get your invite code, you will do level 1 which is an unpaid training level, when i did my Level one it took nearly 3 weeks to complete, nowadays i believe it can be done in a couple of days... once you complete it you go to Level 2 and therein waits all the paid tasks, All apps are fluid, today you may have 200 tasks around you, tomorrow only 2... You can make an awful lot of money from the apps but it involves putting in time and be willing to travel a bit to make big bucks.. i just cashed out this months earnings early £332 since Aug 1st...but as i said i am a heavy user and i do it alongside my day job. BeMyEye is right up there alongside Roamler in the earnings category... no training level, just sign up and start..Both apps have a tendency to raise the pay on tasks...you hold off and hope someone else doesnt grab a task and the pay may rise. Field Agent was once the top of the Apps, now it is a shell oif its former self, it is mostly unpaid surveys with a "prize draw" which is never won by anyone known to anyone in the task apps users circle for some odd reason... for about 18 months there was not one paid task on it in the whole UK, in recent months a few paid tasks have appeared, but the quota is tiny..maybe only just one or two completions needed and many the tasks are video tasks (You video yourself answering questions) Gig walk i have had over 2 years and for someone such as me who is a heavy task app user the fact i have made £0 in 2 years will tell its own story!! So stick with Roamler and BeMyEye, other active apps are Streetspotr (Taking pics of menu in McDs and BKs) Shepper can be worth looking into depending on your locale really,Red Wigwam is good (Not really a task app...lots of different types of paid work) Job Spotter (You see a "situation vacant" ad in a shop or wherever, snap a pic and get paid in points which accrue and turn into Amazon vouchers,.. and Mobeye sometimes has daft wee tasks for pennies like take pics of an orange, or a candle etc... Streetbees has some paid tasks on (not one i really use)

Thanks for the info, that was quite useful hearing all that from someone who's tried them all. After seeing what you and Jon both just wrote about Field Agent and what you wrote about Gigwalk too, I think I'll just uninstall Field Agent and Gigwalk honestly - since it seems completely pointless having them. As for Streetspotr - I do have it already, I installed it a couple of days ago, and I'm planning on keeping it for a while to see it any jobs come up - it's nice to see that they're are actually active tasks within the UK on there at the moment - but there are none in my local area at the moment, so I'll just have to wait a while to see how useful it is for me.

As for Streetbees - I downloaded it about a week ago, as I had heard some good things about it - I heard that there was a mixture of survey type tasks and "out and about" type tasks often available on there - but in the week that I've had it - I've only had 1 paid task, which was a paid survey (which hasn't even been approved and credited to my account yet), and every other task/job so far has been for unpaid surveys. I haven't seen a single non-survey task so far. I do enjoy doing surveys and I will happily do any paid surveys that are available for me - but I was hoping for some non-survey type tasks too, more out and about type of stuff, because I already do a lot of surveys and it's nice to have a bit of variety sometimes. Do you think I should give it more time and hold out to see if more paid things start to pop up for me? And also - is it really necessary for me to do all the unpaid ones? I have done some of the unpaid surveys, as I thought it might be a good idea as it might lead to me getting more paid ones, but so far, it doesn't seem to have made any difference, and I still just keep being offered unpaid ones. :-/

As for Streetbees (which I noticed was mentioned here a couple of times) - I downloaded it about a week ago, as I had heard some good things about it - I heard that there was a mixture of survey type tasks and "out and about" type tasks often available on there - but in the week that I've had it - I've only had 1 paid task, which was a paid survey (which hasn't even been approved and credited to my account yet), and every other task/job so far has been for unpaid surveys. So question to the people here who use Streebees - do you think I should give it more time and hold out to see if more paid things start to pop up for me? And also - is it really necessary for me to do all the unpaid ones? I have done some of the unpaid surveys, as I thought it might be a good idea as it might lead to me getting more paid ones, but so far, it doesn't seem to have made any difference, and I still just keep being offered unpaid ones. :-/

Very welcome, i would add that unless you need space on your phone i would advise keeping apps on and keeping an eye on them (or in here on the forums) Although FA is pretty crap, tomorrow it could burst to life (unlikely, but that is the nature of Task apps) Streetspotr is almost entirely tariff board tasks in McDs and BK (McDs are simple, BK ones a bit harder to do) but they reset each month

I've also found them to be real sticklers. Like they don't always provide clear information as to what they want and then reject your submission when you've adhered to everything they ask for. Don't get me wrong this is not all the time and if you're in the vicinity you might as well give it a try! Also, bear in mind the going rate on other sites. For example, they currently have a travel agent mystery shop for £5. You would get at least £7-8 on a mystery shopping website for doing the same task! This is only my view some people will probably make a fortune and disagree with me!

I can relate to this! You follow the instructions to the latter and they still reject the task....

My account has become inactive with them now, but I'm thinking of having another crack at it.

Hopefully I'm posting in the right place, can anyone send me a new roamler invite code?

Thank you for the info. :) I uninstalled Field Agent and Gigwalk for now - but I will probably try redownloading them every 6 months or so to see if they're any more active. I was so frustrated with Streespotr, because they have had some nice simple tasks that have been available in my surrounding areas for over 3 weeks - they've remained untouched and are still there - but the second one of them popped up right next to where I live, and I got all excited thinking it will probably still be there later on once I've finished work (due to the fact that the same task had remained in all the other areas for so long) - it went within 15 minutes - and the exact same task still remains available in all the areas around me that are just a little too far for me to get to. I know that tasks can be taken very quickly of course - but the fact that the ONLY one to be taken quick was the one that was in walking distance for me, and the others have simply remained sitting there available for weeks is quite irritating. lol I'm really looking forward to actually managing to get my first paid task on there though - because I like the layout of Streetpotr, and find it more simplistic and easy to navigate then some of the other similar apps.

As for Roamler - I decided to download it before getting an invite code (just because I thought I could set up my profile and basic information before hand) - and I was amazed to find that due to my particular area, I didn't require an invite code, and was allowed in straight away. That made me happy. :)

BeMyEye and Mobeye are both great apps for tasks. I have loads near me today. I think I have got just over £30 from BeMyEye today ( a couple are still pending) and Mobeye has had lots recently too

I just got roamler, and it seems unfair that you have to work up to paid tasks. Hope it's worth it in the end though

Yeah the Level 1 is a pain, be thankful that nowadays i believe it can be completed in a couple of days, when i joined it took nearly 3 weeks,Roamler like every other app is dynamic, one day a hundred jobs near you next day nothing, and, how much effort you put in to task apps decides your return really, Roamler and BME are the top 2 earning apps around

I get hardly anything on this app. All I have near me is that cookie baking task for 40XP but it would cost more in ingredients to be worth baking them just to get 40XP, plus I don't have any creative ideas for it
