I won't say my real name but I've been freelance with my work for the last few years. Work, however, has started to slow up recently so I took to looking for jobs online.

I was reading Money Saver Expert which is where I found the link to The Money Shed and so here I am. Have been lurking for a little while, thought I'd (finally) join in.

My background (so far) has been in signing up for an internet crowd worker's job at a company that I can't name. Have been doing the work for the last few weeks and it's been hard-going (to say the least). I did sign up for Swagbucks (but couldn't really get to grips with it) and started to do survey work for Opinion World (but stopped doing that as my rewards were always either donating to charity or being entered into a prize draw - both of which I'm unable to validate).

The internet crowd worker's job is my main online source of income at the moment but as it's pay-per-click it's not proving as lucrative as I thought it might do. In fact it's pretty horrible. The main task I've been doing over the last few weeks has been sorting through adult content (at the rate of $0.03 per click....which went down to $0.02 at the start of the week). In order to make a basic per-hour wage, I was needing to click 400 times per hour (just over one click every ten seconds) but it's never as easy as that (without going into detail). With the price reduction, I'd need to click even more. I'm planning to quit this work and look at another opportunity that was posted on the money shed as well as keep in mind some of the other money-making opportunities listed.

So that's me, hello :)

Wowza that rate of pay is depressing to say the least.....

Hopefully you can find other more higher paying work through the money shed. Blogging seems to e where everyone is heading but even bread and butter work like mystery shopping offers a better rate of pay than what you are getting now

Why aye, man. :D

Bizarrely, there is a big boat yacht moored on the Tyne outside my office as we speak - nice little thing it is too. >> http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/whats-on/whats-on-news/newcastle-yacht-perfect-day-out-7355363
Wow. How the other half live, indeed. Never seen a superyacht before.

When thee boat comes innnn...

Brings back memories of nights out on the Toon. They had ship nightclubs, Tuxedo Royale and Tuxedo Princess. One had a revolving dancefloor. I bet the fancy yacht doesn't have a revolving dancefloor ;) (nor probably a burger van, mind you)

I could never bring myself to venture on to the Tuxedo; I knew I would end up at the bottom of the Tyne with the 6-8in heels I used to go out in.

Newbie here! Am a mum of 2, soon to be 3. Have given up my AHP career as was finding the juggle between childcare and working was impossible. No childcare available where I am so going to become a childminder myself. Would love to work from home to help support my family. Looking forward (although slightly petrified) to the journey....

Hi, I am a childminder and have been childminding 13 years this coming September.

Dont be petrified , yes its hard work setting up, getting policies and procedures in place ,the training, the inspections etc. Keeping on top of the accounts **coughs** must start my tax return lol. Hard work being on the go with the children, much more than your own . Income is not guarenteed, it can go down as quickly as it can go up BUT it is soo rewarding in other ways as well.

When I first started my own were 6 and nearly 4 , so I was restricted on the ratios I could care for, but , I never looked at I'm losing X amount by not being able to have all the places filled due to my own children but looked at it along the lines of I'm saving X amount by not paying childcare myself.

If I can be of any help, give us a shout (I'm registered with CSSIW Wales)

Hi everyone.
I found this forum while browsing the green site and decided I want to join in and be part of it.
I'm working full time and my hobby is money saving;)
What I'm looking at is a littlle bit extra, earned during my spare time.
I recently signed up for some crowd working job but as mentioned before, the pay and availability of jobs is riddiculous.
Hopfully I will find any more ideas soon. And of course share them with others if it will not come from here ;D

Hi Maverick! (Is Goose coming as well?)

Great to have you on the site - Look forward to seeing your posts!

Do you know how much you are looking to earn each month figure wise? That will help us to direct you to threads that might be relevant to you better

Hi Jon :D
Month figure you asking... - thousands:)
No - seriously... I know that earning from home isn't as easy as it looks and to be honest it would be great to have any additional money. For now my target would be around £100 per month but if it will be more that's a plus ;D
Ps.I have lost Goose on my way here 8)

Field Agent
http://www.themoneyshed.co.uk/index.php?topic=2.0

Roamler
http://www.themoneyshed.co.uk/index.php?topic=3.0

Maybe throw some Focus Groups in there
http://www.themoneyshed.co.uk/index.php?topic=42.0

TopCashBack is always worth doing as a background earner
http://www.themoneyshed.co.uk/index.php?topic=10.0

Take a look at the diaries section, people earn all sorts from £50 extra a month to £1000 like I do earn month online

Thank you for your advice Jon.
I'm not an iMan so Field agent is a no go for me :(
Roamler says that they don't need anyone in my area right now.
I have installed Click and walk but no new missions appear here.
I'm allready a long time member of TCB and Quidco:)
I'm doing a surveys for Pinecone and Populus live - but the frequency of surveys will let me earn around £15 a month.
But with the focus groups - i will heave a read - Thank you:)

Hello! :)

I'm Becky, found this site through one of my favourite money saving blogs (From Aldi to Harrods). Recently managed to graduate from uni and currently unemployed - I have a mild lifelong disability that makes it difficult for me to work in most typical work environments, so whilst I wait for advice and help via my NHS counsellor I'm always looking for ways I can make some extra cash so I don't have to rely on family.

I sell a lot of my clothes via Depop which I'm really liking, and currently using Roamler and Featurepoints (check out my last post for a code for free points) - definitely not going to be a millionaire overnight, but it adds up and helps a bit!

Hello

I'm David

I have a lovely wife, 2 sometimes lovely kids and 2 out of control cats.

I work full time. In my spare time I like to mess about with my website and blog, which explore money making and money saving ideas around the home.

The Money Shed is an an excellent resource. I find the community's informality and positivity most uplifting.

Thanks

Well, it looks like I'm here to stay, so I guess I should introduce myself.

Hi, I'm Ellie Hall. I'm a full time Mum to a demanding toddler, with a husband who works overseas about 50% of the time.

I'm an Independent Artist with South Hill Designs, and also an SEO writer, and always looking for more opportunities for work I can do from home in the evenings while my tiny overlord is asleep.

I've got a fairly eclectic background, a masters degree in theoretical physics, wandered in HR from there, did a fair amount of work in both Compensation and Benefits and HR Analytics and then was made redundant when I went on Maternity leave.

I forgot my cake decorating qualifications, I'm halfway through a diploma in Sugarcraft, currently on hold thanks to little one.

I toyed with the idea of becoming a cake maker full time, but I don't think I have any hope of passing the health and safety checks unless the inspector came when my son was asleep :D

I'm into my cake decorating too :D haven't got an official qualification though did a basic sugar craft course in the beginning then self taught myself the rest of what I know.

I also considered it as a job but with all the paperwork and the general populus not willing to pay for a bespoke cake that they could "just buy from a supermarket" I thought it wasn't worth it. Also I put myself under a lot of pressure with things like this so didn't want something I enjoy to become something I loathe

Instead I make novelty cakes for my local games store as a hobby (not so much now I have a little one) and they reimburse me the cost of the ingredients :)

And as a job I've started making cakes.... Out of baby clothes! Much less paperwork/mess but have to deal with wholesalers... Which is not fun at the moment!!

I make LARP wedding cakes, just because your character is getting married doesn't mean you can't have a 3 tier cake! But only for systems I play, because I charge ingredients and IC money.

I also figured it will save me a fortune in birthday cakes, because my son is not having a Thomas the tank engine cake from tesco! Plus I really like cake...
