Got money back from Npower from when I switched so I've started matched betting along with my son.
Ballsed up my first bet, never placed a bet in my life, and lost £11
. Son also ballsed up his first bet and won £60
.
I have now got the hang of it and I'm on my fifth bookie
. It's a bit addictive isn't it, not in a gambling sense, more in a shopping sense. I like internet shopping a bit too much and this might make a good substitute.Same sort of bargain hunting.
It's all a learning curve and if you are totally unfamiliar with betting things like not knowing how to deal with fractional odds, the answer is to look for a button somewhere, not try to work them all out in your head, can flummox you a bit. My problem was that 'betting' itself is so unfamiliar not that 'matched betting' is unfamiliar if that makes sense. I also got a partially matched bet but luckily someone eventually matched it and I didn't have to cancel and change odds.
So far I have mainly lost at the bookies so I already look like a bit of a mug! so I don't think any mug bets are needed. The only possible exception is Stan James which still has a free bet that is on this afternoon but I can consider it once I've got my money out, and see if it's a bookie I will use regularly.
