Re: Discussion about matched betting

Just had a quick read through this thread as I recently started claiming the free bets after signing up to a different site. I have earned a fair bit from the free bonuses, I still have some money tied up in my last couple of sites but my spreadsheet tells me I have made nearly £800 profit from the free bonuses. I did have some money upfront to be able to get through a few sites at once so I have done this fairly quickly. I also came across some bingo sites that offered huge bonuses and got lucky earning £1500 on just a couple of sites, there is a huge element of luck in that though!

I was a complete newbie to betting so looked around a few forums before deciding it was too complicated for me to just have a go on my own and that's why I chose to sign up to a site that would send me offers when I requested that told me who to sign up to, what to bet on and if I would have to rollover the amount.

I would recommend doing this to anyone who has considered it as an option but my advice would be if you are familiar with a site have a go on your own rather than paying a site or if you're like me and needed help look around first for one that would suit you. There are tons out there! I can't comment on the site that started this thread as I have no experience with is and there wasn't enough information from my quick browse of it to know if it's worth joining.

Re: Discussion about matched betting

I am JUST about to start on a matched betting journey in the next week or two

Been wanting to do it for a while as, well, it is tax free and I want to lower my level of manual working at home

Re: Discussion about matched betting

I've seen several matched betting ads appearing lately and I have to admit to being more than a little interested. The possibility of any money coming into the household tax free is rather appealing.

I grew up with my dad doing 5p accumulators on the horses and could read a form guide and out bet him by the age of 7. The only thing worrying me about this is the whole, pay us this much a month thing and not knowing who to trust and who may just take the money and give nothing in return! I've done the odd accumulate on the footie in recent weeks and cashed out a reasonable amount, but quite fancy getting into this with the right advice.

They have a free trial. I was sceptical, read some reviews and did the free trial. Really glad I did too as I've made a tidy amount since then.

Re: Discussion about matched betting

After 9 bets (5 on horses and 4 on football) I have received an email from one of the bookies (not sure if I'm allowed to name them here) telling me my account will be closed ???. Open bets to be honored and any monies in my account refunded.

Replied to them asking why they are closing it.

They said that they believe my bets are being placed on industry known arbs and will not be profitable to their business. I don't agree with this as most of the money ends up in my BetFair account. Oh well.

That makes no difference to an arb.

Arb betting is taking advantage of a difference in odds between the bookie and the exchange. It's usually done by finding odds the bookies have made mistakes on in order to guarantee profit. They know exactly what you're doing, and will restrict/ban your accounts because you're making profit from their mistakes.

Their loss if they don't want me as a customer as I was making legitimate bets as well. Guess I'll just have to stay under the radar with the other bookies ;)

Re: Discussion about matched betting

Just done a quick search on the web and there are a lot of unhappy customers of this particular bookie and their policy to close accounts seems very random.

Re: Discussion about matched betting

Jon's just given me permission to post my link to Profit Accumulator.

This is the website I use for matched betting, and will be making £2000 per month tax free when my bankroll is big enough.

The great thing about Profit Accumulator is that they post the daily offers to the website, provide detailed instruction and videos on how to place the matched bets, provide details about keeping your accounts open and healthy, and have a private Facebook group with over 6000 members contributing with new offers, advice, and general chat about matched betting. It's invaluable.

It costs £18 per month to become a Platinum member, but that's a drop in the ocean to the profits you'll make. You can sign up for a free account and try it out with two of the offers which will make you around £45 profit straight away.

This is an affiliate link, so I'll get a little bit of cash if anyone signs up using it. Thanks to anyone who does. :)

If you are not comfortable with the FREE information out there and still feel the need to join a service then my advice would be to do some research 1st. I'm not going to plug any service but personally I can think of a bigger service than the one listed above.

Considering Profit Accumulator started in October that's hardly surprising.

I've also used Fix The Odds which is huge, but nowhere near as good, in my opinion.

6000+ paying members making decent money each month isn't too bad for a site that launched in October. Joining a service allows you to relax knowing that offers will be posted for you each day. You also have access to the matchmaking list so don't have to manually search for bets, and have a group of people all helping each other out.

But by all means, do it on your own or join another service. I can only vouch for the ones I've used.

Also, if you cared to read my post there's a FREE section on Profit Accumulator.

Re: Discussion about matched betting

Pheebs, I will let the members of this forum make there own choice and really don't see why you got so defensive. Profit accumulator may be the best thing since sliced bread but in my opinion the bigger service is still the one I would recommend. Anyone who did a search would find 2269 comments about the service just on one website. Profit accumulator may offer a FREE section but I can also learn to do matched betting for FREE without joining profit accumulator.

If anyone is having any issues with matched betting or needs more information before attempting it. Please feel free to drop me a PM or comment in this thread. Matched betting can be tricky at first but eventually you get the hang of it.

Remember support is always here if you need it.

Cheers

Hey TheMatchedBet, I found this page when searching for matched betting information.

I checked out your site and it looks pretty good but how much money can be made from doing this stuff? I've been reading quite a bit about it but still unsure whether it can keep making money on and ongoing basis or not.

Thanks.
