Don’t know if I’m just being impatient but I referred 2 people yesterday and obviously joined up myself so I should have 3 free shares and I can’t see anything.

And I emailed them about it saying one of them had been rejected and they said if I rejected it then there’s nothing they can do. But I didn’t reject it, they rejected my attempt to buy the share I think because I didn’t have the funds. So I should still be entitled to the free share.

When you get awarded the free shares you don't need to buy them or do anything with them straight away

You could SELL them, but you don't want to buy them and use actual cash

If your friends have been allocated a US share when you will get that around 3/3:30pm today when the US market opens up

I know that now about not having to press buy. But because I already did that and it came up saying it had been rejected... I don’t know if I’ve lost the free share because of that. Trading212 didn’t give me a straight answer, they just said if I’ve rejected it then there’s nothing they can do, but I didn’t reject it, they rejected my attempt to buy it. So has the free share gone too? Or will I still get it?

Also when I referred my first friend I got a notification about it, but with the second one I haven’t.

I'm not sure, I thought they would have to wait a day? And I thought I might still get a notification. And what about my share for joining up? Maybe that will show up later too I don't know.

At least with FreeTrade it told me straight away today that I have a free share in the queue.

Okay in your app, look through your notifications, that will give you a history of all shares allocated and all transactions made - what does this say?

The second friend may have not had his £1 deposit go through yet - I only just got the notification of the free share I got from your referral on Freetrade this morning.

The first notification says you’re one step closer away from a free share, deposit funds, which I did yesterday.

My guess is:

Your free share from depositing the funds hasn't been processed yet - yesterday was a bank holiday for UK markets - so you could have been given a UK share.

The rejection is probably because you didn't have enough funds in your account to actually buy the share - when you first register on the app your free funds are likely to be 0. Hence why your order to buy a share was rejected.

I would wait on the second friend notification. Again on FreeTrade mine only came up today but you deposited about 3/4 days ago now?

You shouldn't lose your free share.

I would wait a couple more days because it's likely your £1 deposit hasn't hit your investing account yet.
