    The Art of the Selfie

Some sites want a picture if you register with them. I've never really mastered the art of the selfie but I'm going to have to get to grips with it.

Question / Discussion Any ideas for work that can be done on the mobile phone when I put my laptop in for repair?

I know there are things like Roamler and Shepper and sundry other apps but can anyone suggest jobs that can be done on the mobile phone that would tide me over while I have my laptop repaired? (if anyone saw my comment on another thread earlier today regarding my difficulties with microphones...

Question / Discussion Anyone know any resources for learning data annotation/labelling?

Hello, I applied for something in this line about a week ago. My understanding was that the site would teach you but I've heard nothing back. Googling YouTube hasn't been particularly helpful. There are videos telling you what it is and videos telling you how to use certain downloadable tools...

Other Referrals Anybody used the Bower Recycling App - not megabucks

Has anyone any experience of this? No financial incentive to sign up unfortunately. I thought it might be worthwhile because recycling is something I do anyway - it wouldn't be that difficult to take a photograph with my phone when I take out cardboard or items for the blue bin for recycling.

Fun and Games Getting Money for Microtasks etc.

I've signed up for a few of the "gig economy" sites and GPT sites. Not megabucks but better than a kick in the teeth as my late mother would have said. People are probably fed up of me mentioning having a dodgy back that's taking its own sweet time to clear up - but the last three months I've...

Question / Discussion Has anyone ever had annoying pop up ads after visiting get paid to sites?

I won't name the hosting site as the dodgy stuff was probably posted without their knowledge or the sites people were asked to visit in the tasks could have been hacked. Briefly, I did - or rather tried to do - a couple of seemingly easy tasks which involved logging into sites and staying there...

No Madam, I don't want to do your course

One of the drawbacks of looking on the internet for information about online work is that one comes across YouTube videos made by rogues and scallywags who tell the most outrageous lies - grossly exaggerating the amount of money that can be made in the 'gig' economy for example - or making out...

Blog / Blog Post Promotion Has anybody used Medium to post stuff?

Starting a blog or podcast has been something I've wanted to do for a while. Initially it wasn't as a money making idea but a labour of love because I wanted to provide a resource for people who were interested in shorthand. There's a dearth of resources (I'm not saying there aren't any by the...

Website Testing Any User Testing Sites that don't require an assessment before joining?

Hi folks, I've thought maybe I could try the user testing route but most seem to require a candidate to pass some sort of assessment before joining. Does anyone know if there are any that you can join without passing a test? Long story short, while I don't consider myself to be Einstein I...

Question / Discussion Popping back after a long time - asking for advice

Hello, long time, no post (or type). Has anybody any experience of a site called Cashback.co.uk? It's supposed to be something like 20Cogs (which I've looked at but not participated in). I looked at the reviews on Trustpilot and they were very much mixed - some people raved about it whereas...

Question / Discussion Asking for Advice

Hello all, from my user name you will see that I am a retired person. I have done some work from home before - mostly typing. My main client hasn't sent me stuff for a long time (I think her own supply of work has declined to be honest). I had an illness a few years ago - not fatal but I just...
