Hi I'm Simon
I started looking for alternatives about a year and a half ago (due to a grey and depressing 8-6 office job with a terrible boss) and since then I have mainly been selling antique books on ebay (I was lucky with a couple of good house clearances) - I advertised the fact that I was looking for all loft clearances and house clearances and after a few weeks got my first haul of antique books (could have been anything!) I just took the plunge and was lucky to get a lot of valuable stuff. (I gave the guy who was clearing the house a small amount of money, and in return came home with 500 antique books I also put ads up saying 'book dealer/collector looking for old books' etc etc. Use gumtree, there's always people on there, although you do have to sift through the replies as you'll get a lot of useless replies hehehe.
A lot of the time someone is hired to clear a house and they will either throw it all in a skip, or give it away / sell what they can. With this particular house clearance I estimate that about 10,000 antique books were thrown into a skip by the guy! I didn't have the space to take them all!!! So I just got about 500 books. I've made about £2000 over 6 months from that particular house clearance. (On ebay)
I also do tv/film extra work and have found that you can really make a load of money if you're lucky enough to be chosen for a block period of filming. (I know its not working from home, but it suits people with flexible schedules and is really easy money). There's 3 or 4 main agencies - sign up with them but don't sign up with the ones that you have to pay upfront.
I have also made a music cd that I am selling (and performing music) but I wouldn't recommend that if you want to make decent money. Maybe the venue will give you 'beer money' or maybe someone will buy a cd (although I feel guilty when someone buys one ha ha ha - I'm also a terrible salesman). I have a lot of online music/band content and have just recently tried to 'monetize' it, but I reckon I'll make about 50p a year because it's a very niche music style.
I'm mainly looking for new opportunities that are flexible and I'm extremely interested in this 63336/Text operator role.
